My mom nudged me again, as if to say that what I had said was rude. I didn't think so, both of the adults in front of me were watching us with a comical gaze.
'Sorry I meant to say hi how are you?' My mom seemed more pleased with the way I had reacted this time.
'Im fine sweety. You may not remember us were are Ryan's mom and dad! I'm Wendy and this is my husband Joseph.' The wom-i mean Wendy told me.
The sound of Ryan's name had me shivering all over and my eyes widened and looked behind them half expecting him to be there. A rush of disappointment came over her as she shied away feeling bad for myself that he wasn't here.
'He's out training the pack.Are you missing him?' Joseph said pulling me it off my thoughts.
I had so many questions:
'What's a pack?
Who are you talking about?
Why are they training?
Who am I missing?'
Josephs eyes widened in realization of what he just said. He was trying to muster up some words but I could see he found none. Wendy cut across our staring and said to my mom,
'April has grown so fast since when I last saw her it was like 14 years ago she was 4 then and now she's 18.'
I smiled 'Oh I'm not 18 just yet! My birthday is in april, wait it is april! Mom what day is it?' I asked slightly worried.
'Ummm.. The 25th' she answered back
'TOMORROW IS MY BIRTHDAY!! MOM YOU SAID I COULD GO CAMPING!! WHY DID WE MOVE HERE SO CLOSE TO MY BIRTHDAY?!?' I yelled at her.
Everyone looked anxious and overwhelmed by my shouting.' Well um. Honey we kind of moved for your birthday.' She flinched and closed her eyes almost expecting to be hit.
' And why on earth did we do that?' I asked slightly calmer.
Joseph butted in saying 'if you want answers come on inside!'
Then we were interrupted...
