"Pick up the damn phone, Sandra!" I whispered angrily as I heard Sandra's phone ringing but not being picked up.

"You know what? I'm glad you aren't carrying my child."

How did you know, Wesley? Paano mo nalaman ngayon?

I started the car's engine but didn't leave. Hell, I was hyperventilating! I dialled Sandra's number again and she finally answered.

"Alison, I'm sorry I was busy putting Alex to sle--"

"I need a straight to the point answer, Sandra." I asked, couldn't hide the fury in my voice.

I felt betrayed. She promised that everything will only be between me and her. I was sure she was the one who disclosed it to Wesley. Aside from my family, she's the only person in the Philippines who knew.

"Answer with what?" She laughed hesitantly.

"Did you tell Wesley about my miscarriage?" I asked and I heard a gasp from the other line.

"No, Alison! I didn't."

"Oh please, Sandra. Tell me. Hanggang saan ang ikinuwento mo?" I was seething in anger. And nervousness at the same time. I couldn't seem to calm myself.

"Yes, I told him you were in US. But I didn't tell him about your miscarriage."

I raised my voice at her.

"Can you please calm down? Nagsasabi ako ng totoo. Wala akong sinasabi sa kanya."

I slapped the steering wheel in frustration as I ended the call. I hope you're really saying the truth, Sandra. I won't hesitate to end our friendship if I've learned you betrayed me.

I was hesitant to go to work the next day. I was afraid Wesley would talk about my miscarriage again. I went to work still, though.

It's a good thing Wesley didn't show up the whole morning.

My phone rang and I immediately answered when I saw Luther's name on the caller's ID.

"Hon..." I said while my eyes still focused on my laptop.

"How are you, hon?" Tanong nito.

"I'm fine. Ikaw? Are you okay?"

"Yes, hon." I heard him sigh on the other line.

"Sure?"

"Yes. Anyway, I have already found a substitute for our crane operator. He will be deployed next week."

"Thanks hon. Hindi mo talaga ako pinabayaang mag-isa. You're the best." I gratefully said as I smiled.

Rumors said he went back to Antique.
