Forgotten

Failed Mission

The mission wasn't going as planned.

-The mission: Stop the evil scientist from finishing his secret project before he handed it over to the league of evil.

The team wasn't supposed to be spotted let alone battle half of the thugs the scientist had hired for protection.
but it seems word got out about  the team's arrival and the league of evil had brought in triple the security.

they probably should have fallen back once they noticed the extra numbers guarding the base... but no, 
they couldn't let some extra hired guards stop them from the plan..though maybe in this case they should have.

Robin was barely able to keep the guards off his own back let alone notice how the others were doing as he continued to throw his birdarangs,
as the smoke from his bomb clouded the area around him he pulled another flip smashing a guards helmet as he tried to buy himself enough time to think

"Guys, I'm getting a little whelmed over here."

He said using the mind link M'gann setup before the chaos had began.
He landed on the ground and pulled more weapons from his belt before Kid Flash replyed

"Well I'm Definitely whelmed over here. But I'll try to move towards you."

"Me and M'gann are almost finished inside. Continue to fight and keep them distracted if possible." Aqualad answered

"Easy for you to say, you guys are in stealth mode. no one's shooting at you" Superboy added.

Robin noticed a blur jump into the sky before landing, shaking the ground around him. Superboy appeared a few feet away and helped pull a few of the guards off Robin's back but not nearly enough. More guards came rushing beside him. They seemed to be coming from nowhere, like the
entire base was filled with a new batch of guards every ten minutes.

The forest around them started to grow darker, making it harder to see the base amidst all the guards running towards him, Robin continued to fight, Pulling out his staff and flipping in the air before landing behind some of the thugs and managing to knock the weapons from there hands before they noticed him. he took down several more as time seemed to pass at full speed. it wasn't long before he started noticing breaks in the thugs, maybe they were finally running low on guards..after all how could they not be?

Just as he thought they could still  pull it off,  he heard Wally scream in the distance.

He turned his head for mere seconds to try and locate him, when something large slammed into his temple. His vision blurred, as he turned and slammed his staff into ..someone?.. something? he couldn't tell. instinct took over as he ran in the direction he thought wally would be, when suddenly the earth began to shake again but not because of superboy.

A bomb of some sort must have been thrown from the base.

as Robin was thrown back, his head hit something hard as he landed, crashing him into the darkness.

He heard a voice as someone shook his shoulders

"Rob? ..Cmon, dude..Guys,we need to bail! Robin's been hit."

he tried to open his eyes but found it to hard, he was finding it  hard enough not to slip back into darkness as another voice..was it in his head?
answered

"Superboy, help Wally and Robin return to the ship. We will follow."

Someone picked him off he ground before a different voice said

"Copy that..Come quick guys, Wally was  right..he doesn't ..look so good."

The darkness pulled him back under.
