A/N Now povs get switched up a little

3 months later

Annabeth sighed. It had been three months since the prophecy was issued, and there was still no sign of Percy. At least Sepia finally got the message. He introduced her to Arak, a legacy of a nymph. Now that was a real man. He was tall, tan, and muscular. Arak had short choppy brown hair and a mischievous smile. They had been dating for over a month now, and Annabeth was head over heels.

The weird thing was that more demigods began arriving at camp. They were unaccompanied by satyrs and refused to tell anyone who saved them. Chiron kept hoping that whoever was saving these demigods would bring Pax back soon.

Pax's POV

Alpha and I were on the hunt of a manticore. It was the same manticore that almost took the lives of Nico and Bianca. What was his name again? Dr. Horns?

We found the manticore with a child in his grasp.

"Please, h-help m..." he struggled to breathe.

I took my twin swords and charged at the manticore. It howled in pain and dropped the boy.

"You fool! I'll just kill you first." Dr. Thorn threatened. Yes, that was his name!

Alpha took out Moira from underneath his cloak. "You'll have to get through me first."

I rushed to the boy and quickly gave him some ambrosia while Alpha distracted our friend Thorny.

"What's your name, little fella?" I asked, trying to cheer him up.

He mumbled something like. "Eric Walters."

"Well Eric," I began, "you're going to love this."

I took out my swords and rammed them into the manticore's back. It dissolved into golden dust.

"C'mon, Beta." Alpha whined. "I had that one covered. That was my kill!"

"Sure you did." I snickered.

I turned to Eric. "We're gonna take you somewhere safe, Eric. Somewhere monsters won't hurt you. I'm Beta, and this is my sidekick Alpha."

"Sidekick?"Alpha asked.

I grinned like a total idiot. "Of course! I saved your butt in Tartarus, remember?"

"And I saved you during the Titan War."

"I had that hydra perfectly under..."

"Excuse me," Eric interrupted, "but what exactly are you?"

I took off my cloak. "We're demigods. You, me, and Alfito over here. One of your parents is a Greek god or goddess."

Alpha threw a nearby pebble at me. I caught it in mid air.

"Nice try, Fish Breath. Camp Half-hel...I mean, Camp Half-blood is a safe place for demigods like you. Once you get there, you must promise to tell no one about us. We're the Shadow Hunters. We save demigods and keep ourselves hidden." I explained.

I heard snarls in the distance.

"Alpha, I would take him myself, but Eric's aura is too strong. Would you risk a shadow-travel?" I asked.

He retorted. "Would you consider that my kill?"

"Fine." I let him win. Alpha could be a huge drama queen sometimes.

Alpha took Eric's hand in his.

"Hold on tight little one." he smiled with care. "You might begin to feel nauseous and/or afraid, but I will be right here holding your hand."

Eric took his hand. Alpha and I awkwardly held hands, too.

"Ready?" he asked.

I nodded and we melted into darkness.

When we returned to the physical world, we were outside the woods. Eric began retching, so I gave him some water.

"This is the place." I began. "When you enter the woods, you'll be safe. We can't come with you. Some jealous people betrayed us. But you'll be safe."

Adorable little Eric hugged us.

"Will I ever see you again?" he asked.

Alpha smiled. "You sure will! I promise. And remember to contact your parents when you get to camp. They might be worried."

Eric waved and walked towards the forest.

Alpha and I walked away and held hands to shadow-travel away to...

"Who are you?"

Alpha jerked back, and I turned around. I saw a beautiful girl stand before us. I knew exactly why Alpha flinched now.

"Who are you?" Piper McLean asked again.
