Leaving the adventurers guild, Takemikazuchi began to think of what he had to do. They'd just accepted a request to help some farmers with their crops. At this time of the year, farmers began planting so they could harvest slightly before the empire would have their yearly war with the Kingdom. It wasn't a glamorous job but one that would help increase their ranking in the guild. Moat adventurers usually passed on these requests as the work tended to be twofold; part escort and part manual labour.

Takemikazuchi: "Thanks again for helping with the translating Valmet. I will try and pick up the local alphabet when we have time."

Valmet: "No problem glad to be of service. So stocking up on supplies before we head out?"

(Supplies? I have pretty much everything I need in my inventory to be honest. I don't need to eat or sleep really...that leaves things like potions but I have a small stock of those as well. Not that I think I'd need them against what I've seen so far. Would be a good idea for him though.)

Takemikazuchi fetched the 100 gold writ from the leather bag and handed it to Valmet.

Takemikazuchi: "You know a bit more about adventuring from your teacher right? Why don't you go do the shopping, I'll take a small tour of the city before we head out. We'll meet back up at the inn where our room is."

Valmet beamed with pride, knowing that Takemikazuchi was trusting him with 100 gold.

Valmet: "Don't worry, I'll grab everything we need and more!"

He set out at a sprint, quickly disappearing in the crowd. Ah, the energy of youth thought Takemikazuchi. Breathing in the city air and atmosphere, he started casually strolling down the streets, taking in the sights. Slowly but surely, he was getting more accustomed to being here, in this strange new world. He was not feeling out of his skin as much and was starting to feel more like he belonged here and that everything was as it should be.

(I'm lucky that Ainz is here and I'm not alone like he was at the start. That must have been rough; no friendly face, thrown into the unknown and in another body. I suppose the guardians were there for him but they aren't quite other humans that shared the same experiences we did. Huh, 'human' can I even still be considered that? Compared to these humans walking next to me, I'm a completely different being.)

Having always admired the older eras, Takemikazuchi was particularly interested in the nobles. Powerful lords and ladies that governed their lands and served the King. Although slightly more western in nature, Japan also had their own nobles. The samurai in particular were the theme that Takemikazuchi fixated on, going so far as trying to model himself into one. If there was one thing lacking on his world, earth, it was a code of honor and respect. He reminded himself to try and get a meeting with a noble someday, it would likely help his adventuring career if he could get sponsored or do something noteworthy for an influential noble. How else would he be able to find a new worthy rival for himself if he did not have the fame for such a powerful being to know of him?

(I wonder how Ainz did it when he became an adventurer. I admit I feel a bit lost as to what to do, thankfully Valmet is here. It'd be nice if I could just ask Ainz about it. Wait..I can right? I just need to teleport back using a scroll. Ahh dang, what if he's not there? A shame my message doesn't work either.)

Takemikazuchi sighed, his shoulders dropping slightly and he continued walking around, hoping to view a bit of the city before Valmet returned. As he made his way through the busy market streets where goods were peddled and laid out, something caught his attention in the corner of his eyes but was gone when he looked. It felt like something was stalking him, from quite a distance away however.

Wondering who it could be, he upped his speed and took the next left into an alley he could find, hoping to get there before this mysterious sneaky person. Arriving quickly, he looked in the opposite direction to spot the stalker, activating a skill to help him.

Takemikazuchi: "Detect Life!"

Every animal and human being in the vicinity became outlined in his vision but nothing seemed out of place.

(Is it possible...higher than tier 3 magic at play?)

Takemikazuchi: "Then let's try this..Sixth Sense!"

A Nephilim ability, it greatly enhanced reaction times and sensory outputs for a limited time. As a warrior, it was one of his only tools to fight rogues or deal with invisibility. Looking down the alley, he spotted nothing, frantically, he turned around to search on the other side but came up empty as well. It was only when he looked up that he saw a silhouette that did not quite fit in, eight legged and hanging outside the second story of a building.

(Is that a...Eight-Edge Assassin? Sure looks like one but what would it be doing here in the city..oh! Of course, this would be how Ainz was planning to keep in touch with me, clever! He really does think of everything, second only to Punitto Moe.)

Making sure the way is clear, no one nearby looking at him, Takemikazuchi jumped, reaching the Eight-Edge Assassin with a single leap and grabbing it, much to it's shock and surprise, landing in a cul de sac which was more secluded to talk.

Takemikazuchi: "Hey, it's me, Warrior Takemikazuchi. I need to relay a message to Ainz, can you do that for me?"

Held in Takemikazuchi's two hands, the Eight-Edge Assassin squirmed and sweated.

Eight-Edge Assassin: "Y-yes Supreme Being, of course."

Takemikazuchi smiled broadly.

Takemikazuchi: "Can you ask Ainz if he can meet with me some time? I want to ask him a few questions, when he's available of course."

The Eight-Edge Assassin nodded positively, Takemikazuchi dropping him gently on the ground before it quickly scurried away. He clapped his hands together, feeling quite good about how he had solved this problem.

Unknown Male: "Well well well, look who we have here."

Four strangers that looked dressed like adventurers made their way into the small dead end of the alley Takemikazuchi was in, closing off the exit with their bodies.
