Rahmeek

I began tucking him into bed and he spoke up with a demand, "Daddy, check for monsters under my bed." I chuckled while kneeling and groaning as my knees cracked before I could reach the floor. "You know, if you keep making me get down here Rah Rah, I ain't letting you watch those scary movies with me no more," I stated as I held up the bed skirt to check for whatever gremlins he thought might be lurking down there. I peered beneath the bed to see Rah Rah. Another Rah Rah, staring back at me! His little body quaked as he whispered, "Daddy... there's somebody on my bed."

'What the hell' was all I could think as I heard giggling coming from on top of the bed. "See anything daddy?" He asked, but I didn't answer so he repeated himself, See anything daddy?" He giggled again but this time that light sweet voice bounced between innocence and sinister.

Without thought, I grabbed my son by the arm dragging him out from under the bed quickly, standing and rushing for the door only to find it now closed, locked, and not opening for shit. I felt a tug on my sweatpants. "What's the matter Daddy?"

I heard my son's voice ask me from behind and I turned around to see the little body in NASCAR pajamas glitching like a computer screen. "Daddy!" Rah Rah cried in my arms as I kicked whatever this was in the face as hard as I could and headed for the window which seemed to be glued shut.

"Daddy," I turned around to see the little fucker getting up and the ceiling light flickered on by itself as I watched him. "Why did you kick me daddy? That wasn't nice," The sinister voice returned as he glitched again. "I'm not your fucking dad! Get the hell out of my house!" I barked at the little demon. He stopped in his tracks as a grin grew on his face.

"But this isn't your house..." He paused before what looked to be lightening engulfed him in a swirling storm and I opened Rah Rah's closet door. "Stay in here no matter what okay? Hush. Be strong Rah Rah." He nodded as I closed it just before grabbing the bottle of anointing oil from my sons nightstand unscrewing the cap. Thank God I listened to mama for something, I kept a bottle in every room just like she did! I don't know if this is gonna work but I'll put my faith to the test today.

Just as the storm of lightning stopped around what had to be a demon, a five foot glowing yellow fellow with patches of burnt red skin and plots of blonde hair stood before me growling, "This is my house!" He charged at me and I starting throwing the oil all over him, pleading the blood of Jesus, telling the devil why he couldn't win here. And in less than a second, in a cloud of smoke he disappeared and the bedroom door swung open. Denise, my wife, stood on the other side of it and I hurriedly got Rah Rah out of the closet rushing out the door pulling them both downstairs. "We have to go!" I said to Denise as Rah Rah cried.

"What's going on?!" She questioned.

"There's no time to explain!"

We left and that night we slept at my mothers. I devoted the next six months of my life researching and trying to make sense of that night. Turns out over two hundred years ago, there was a fire on this very area of land. There were stories of ghosts and hauntings from previous owners of this home but none were confirmed. And no one thought to mention this on Zillow?
