"Baby get down!" Quinton yelled as bullets hit the car and he pushed my head down as he weaved in and out of traffic trying to escape whoever was chasing us down on the 405.

But I would be damned if I died because this nigga ain't have it the balls to bust back. I climbed between the seats and pulled down the back seat that opened up a compartment in the trunk and pulled out a big ass automatic while rolling down both of the back windows. "Step on it, Que!" I yelled as we started gaining speed.

With the gun out the window on the passenger side, I let off round after round and all my shots was was hitting. Just like that I had one of the black cars off us but Que started hollering. "Fuck, they got me!" I turned my head back to see Que clutching his arm while trying to steer with his leg and his other hand.

There was another truck gaining on us that was letting off shots like a demon out of hell. I reloaded the clip and slid across the backseat before firing back. The truck started swerving, damn near crashing into us as I aimed for the driver's head. I could see clear as day through the shattered windshield that it was Wiley— Jacob's son behind the wheel and his brother Warren in the passenger seat.

Dammit! Those boys were pratically my nephews... but it's clear that it's either them or me and baby it's damn sure not about to be me. I squeezed the trigger hitting Warren first and I watched Wiley scream while trying to wake his brother. I smiled before letting off another round that made Wiley shake behind the wheel of that truck before it crashed and burned against the wall of the tunnel we'd just exited.

"Que..." I said with concern in my voice and he looked back at me through the rear view mirror. "This the second time this month we've been in a shoot out. What the hell is going on?" I started demanding answers. He sighed. "I'll explain everything tonight, I promise." I stayed in the back seat clutching the gun just in case any more heat decided to show up and we were home in 45 minutes.

When we got in Que pulled me up into the master bathroom and handed me a kit full of everything I would need to remove the bullet from his shoulder. I sat the kit on the counter and crossed my arms over my chest. I knew Que would try to play on the sympathy he thought I owed him for being shot in hopes of me forgetting he promised to fill me in. "I ain't touching you until you tell me wassup," I said with a whole lot of attitude. Quinton smacked his teeth and blew the biggest breath of frustration.

"It's Jacob. After taking care of him for all these years you would think he would be a little more grateful. He put a price on my head, he wants me dead." My mouth fell open. "Your brother? Why the hell would he want to do that? Didn't Ya'Nice just pass away? He needs to be grieving his dead wife instead of taking it out on you," I said while shaking my head while pouring alcohol over his wound and then grabbing the tweezers. But I couldn't stop thinking about this bullshit. "Que, this just don't make no sense. What ain't you tellin' me? I know Jacob he would never do this for no reason."

"Ya'Nice... didn't just pass away. Apparently about six months back she got hooked on some of my stuff but I never would have gave her that shit. I told Marquise he had to chill on servin' her! I told him she couldn't handle that shit but he wouldn't listen! She overdosed... and when Jacob found her clutching a baggie with my emblem on it... he's been gunning for me ever since."

"Que are you serious?!" I asked feeling so ashamed. "Don't tell me you're on his side!" Que shook his head as he sat on the toilet with the lid down. "I'm not on his side, but dammit Que! If you can't control the niggas that's supposed to be followin' your orders what the fuck can you control?!" I pushed his wounded shoulder and he stood to his feet and slapped me. I pushed him with as much force as I could and he stumbled back.
