Ben and Zukoh shared a look before they turned back to me.
"It is possible..." Ben spoke up and sat back.
"But we don't have any proof, and I think if I tried to interrogate any of them anymore I might get the cops called on me." Zukoh Huffed.
"We can't just leave stop searching, and it only makes sense for two animals to do it!" I spoked up, placing my palms on the table. "Yammi can see just fine and you said that woody can smell a bunny for miles! It's the only answer!" My nose twitched as I spoke.
"Calm down, I completely understand you but I still don't think they'd ever just admit to it, especially to me." Zukoh rubbed their temples, thinking.
"That does make sense though... Woody smells the bunny and Yammi goes in for the kill." Ben thought out loud. I shivered at the thought or some feline taking away my defenseless sister. Out thoughts were interrupted by a buzz coming from Zukoh's pocket. They pulled out their phone and opened the notification.
"What is it?" Ben sprang forward in his seat, his fins slightly wiggling.
"Nothing, just a post from Yam-" Before they could finish their sentence I pulled the phone out of their hands.
"Hey!" I ignored the hiss and looked at the post. It was a picture of an orange cat with hair covering his eyes. The caption was just two sparkling heart emojis with a bunch of hashtags. I investigated the photo, ignoring Zukoh and Ben who were trying to get the phone back from me. The picture was a basic picture that any AnamaliaGramster would post. In the picture, he was standing in a kitchen, leaning back in a dark oak chair. You could see an open door in the background and a blurry cat walking past, it was a dirty yellow cat. The cat's arms were outstretched, it looked like he was holding or pushing something. I turned the phone so they could see the screen.
"look! Yammi Is with another cat!" I know Yammi must've done something, even if I might be wrong about the other cat in the background. Zukoh and Ben inspected the photo.
"But, Yammi lives alone..." Zukoh muttered and took the phone out of my hand and tapped a few things on the screen. Their eyes widened a bit as they looked at us. "That's Woody. Yammi is with Woody." They set the phone down after screenshotting the picture. They put their head in their hands. "But either way, it's not like I can just walk into their house and ask them what they're doing together." They huffed and sat up straight.
"But we need to find my sister! I just know they have her, my senses say so!" I stood, practically pushing the table forward as I gripped onto the knitted tablecloth. Zukoh let out a breath before they stood as well.
"Okay. Let's go." Zukoh looked upon us and nodded.
"W-wait! We're coming with you?!" Ben squeaked and stood up as well.
"Duh, Yammi wouldn't hesitate to let me in his house if you guys are with me." Zukoh picked up their phone and put it in their pocket. "And if anything happens to you, I'll call the cops." They tapped the pocket their phone was in. I nodded confidently toward them as Ben sighed.
"Fine..." Ben mumbled and crossed his arms. Zukoh pat Ben's head then turned and opened the door.
"Alright, let's go!" Zukoh chirped. We followed them out the door.
After barely a minute we were at a small cottage-looking house. Zukoh knocked on the door.
"Coming~" A masculine voice calling from inside. The door soon swung open, revealing the same cat that posted on AnamaliaGram, Yammi. I felt myself recoil as the stench of tuna and meat around the cat. Even though his hair was covering his eyebrows and eyes, I could still see the disgust and annoyance on his face when he saw Zukoh.
"What are you doing here? I already told you I-" I saw his nose twitch a bit before he looked down a bit. He looked from me to Ben then leaned on the doorframe and looked at Zukoh with a smirk. "Aweee~ Zucchini~ did you get these two for me? Is this another love confession?~" He purred slightly as he teased them.
"Another?" Ben looked up as Zukoh, confused.
"It's nothing he's jus-" Yammi interrupted Zukoh.
"She didn't tell you? Oh man- she had the biggest crush on me in high school! It was kind of embarrassing!" He snickered.
"Hey! Use the proper pronouns! Zukoh is Non-binary... jerk.." Ben snapped. Yammi hissed at him.
"I'll call 'them' whatever I want to!" He bent over to talk to be. I peered into is house. Woody was sitting at a table in the living room. I suddenly felt a rush go to my legs. I jumped over Yammi and ran up to Woody.
"YOU DID SOMETHING TO ELLIE! I JUST KNOW IT!" I grabbed him by his collar. He yelped out.
"Wh-Whos there?!" The cat's nose twitched as his claws came out. He made a quick swing at me and made three scratches on my cheek. I hissed and pushed him, making the chair Woody was sitting in fall backward. I took a step back and pressed my hand against my cheek. Ben quickly came to my aid and grabbed a napkin from the table, pressing it against my bleeding cheek.
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Yammi looked toward us furiously. I gently pushed ben off of me and ran out of the living room. I ran down the hallway, looking into every room for my sister or anything. "Get out of my house!" I could hear Yammi screaming at me from down the hall. I ignored him and opened the last door. It leads to an underground floor. I quickly closed and locked the door. She wasn't anywhere. This is the last room. I slowly walked down the stairs, my legs shaking. The entire room smelled like Febreze, Oreos, and meat, a terrible combo if you ask me. I made it to the end of the stairs. The basement had two rooms, the one I was standing in had a washer and dryer.
"Murphy! Come out!" I could hear all of them calling me from the other side of the door. They were banging on the door and fiddling with the door handle. I let out a shaky breath before I walked to the door to the next room and slowly opened it. I looked into the room. I felt my stomach churn as I held back vomit. The room was filled rotting corpses of dead bodies of fish, bunnies, and even a cow. Some corpses were hung on a hanger and some were cut into different pieces in buckets or just scattered into different corners of the room. I reluctantly looked through the bodies. I felt my eyes well up with tears of joy and disgust as I saw my sister hanging by her dress. I slowly grabbed her arm and felt her wrist for a pulse, and sure enough, she was alive.
"Ellie!" I cried out happily and pulled her off the rack. She opened her eyes.
"Mu-Murphy! I-I-I-" I shushed her and picked her up in bridal style. I walked out of the room and looked around. They were still hitting the door like there was no tomorrow, and I knew there was no way I was escaping out the front door. I spotted a window then turned the direction of the door.
"Zukoh! Ben! There's a window I'm going to crawl out of!" I shouted to the door. Instantly the banging stopped and I head the sounds of three people running away. I snickered a bit. It worked. I walked up the stairs and unlocked the door and slowly crept out and down the hallway. I made it to the living room. The blind cat was sitting in the chair, his back turned. I slowly walked to the front door and bolted when I successfully passed him. I turned and ran to the window in the basement, and sure enough, all three of them were there.
