*"Scary", Suspenseful*

"No, Elliot. We can not go in there," Wyn whispered in a tight voice while holding his wrist.

They were parked at the trailhead of the 'Disappearing Woods'--cleverly re-named as such because almost everyone that went in never came out.

Elliot chuckled, "You can't seriously believe the stories about this place. The police have combed these woods time and time again and each time they find nothing, Wyn. It's totally safe."

Wyn looked out the windshield at the dark woods. It was eerie being here when her instincts told her to run.

Everyone had been told about the woods and the darkness it held since the 1800s. This forest was like the boogeyman of their small town and the boogeyman had taken many innocent souls in the town's history. You do not go in there--at all--and especially not after dark.

Even if there weren't supernatural or otherworldly forces at work, it was still stupid to wander the woods at night.

"It's only one night, Wyn. We camp for one night to prove that nothing nefarious is going on and then we leave in the morning. We'll be staying just a little past the tree line. I had Paul, Caleb, and Sam come pitch the tent for us earlier and it should just be right off the trail," he coaxed.

"What if we don't walk out tomorrow," Wyn whispered. She couldn't help but think of her friend Sams' great-uncle who disappeared in these woods.

Sure, Wyn hadn't known the man, but Sam had and that made the 'bed-time tales' about this place all the more real.

Some said it was a serial killer who lived in the woods, some said it was some yetti-slash-wolf monster man, some said it was the Devil--but all could agree that something was going on.

There was even an official sign at the trailhead that stated how many people had gone missing with their last known whereabouts at the trail and the numbers had been steadily climbing since the sign was put up in 2010.

"We will, Wyn. Don't you trust me, baby," he pulled her face to him by her chin and kissed her, taking her thoughts away, but the nagging 'Don't Do It' was still there.

"I'll even do that thing you like," he whispered against her lips.

She gasped, her lower abdomen suddenly filled with liquid desire, "Really, El? You never want to do that."

He chuckled lightly and kissed her again, "I don't like hurting you, baby, but if it takes your mind off of where we are then I will. I'll fuck you until the sun comes up just to prove that we will make it and be able to tell our tale tomorrow."

She groaned as he pulled away with a smirk. He knew he had already won.

"Fine, but do you still have that machete in the back," she suddenly looked back at the woods, thinking that she saw something from her peripherals, but after a moment she saw nothing.

But she could've sworn she saw...eyes...

"I do, and I'll bring it, okay? Grab the pack and let's go," he said as he opened his door and went to the back of his truck.

She took a deep breath and got out, opening the back door and grabbing the supplies for the night before meeting up with Elliot at the front of the truck.

Elliot turned her around and grabbed the flashlight on the side of the pack before turning it on and shining it at the beginning of the trail.

He grabbed her hand and smiled, "You ready?"
