Hope's POV:

"No Aunt Freya, I don't think I'll be home this weekend." I tell her. "Hope this is the third month in a row. You promised to visit once a month." "I'm sorry, but things are getting crazy around here. I promise I'll try to make next month or maybe later in this month, but I have to go." I say.

"Ok, but text me when you get home tonight. You know we all worry about you." I smile. "I promise. Goodnight Aunt Freya." "Goodnight Hope." As soon as I hang up the phone Phil walks up to me. "Hey kid. Ready?" He asks, gesturing up to the massive building behind me.

"Of course, but tell me again why we're here. You weren't very specific on the phone." I say as we walk into Stark Tower. "I'll explain everything in a little bit." I sigh. "Fine, I'll wait, but you know I'm not a patient person." I remind him. "Don't I know it." He grumbles.

We walk into the elevator and go to head up when a voice speaks to us. "I'm sorry, but Mr. Stark has requested that there is to be no more visitors tonight." A British voice says. "Sorry JARVIS, this is important. With that Phil starts pressing buttons on his phone and we start to move up.

He finally gets ahold of Stark. "You have reach the life sized decoy of Tony Stark, please leave a message." I roll my eyes. "Stark this is urgent." Phil tells him. "Then leave it urgently." Stark replies.

By this time we have reached the floor Stark is on and the doors slide open to reveal him and Pepper Potts, an acquaintance, having champagne. "Security breach." He calls out before mumbling something to Pepper.

With me enhanced hearing I hear, "That one's on you." I hold back a laugh. "Phil. Hope." Pepper greets with a smile on her face. "Phil, uh, his first name his agent and I'm pretty sure that he isn't supposed to have his daughter with him here." Stark says. I scoff.

"Come in. We're celebrating." Pepper says. "Which is why they can't stay." Stark says with a fake grin on his face. "We need to look this over as soon as possible." Phil says, holding out a file to Stark. "I don't like being handed things." Stark says.

"Well I love to be handed things. So I'll trade you and then here you go." Pepper says, switching her champagne glass with the file then switch the file with Stark's champagne glass. "Official consulting hours are between eight and five every other Thursday." Stark tells us.

"This isn't a consultation." Phil says. "Is this about the Avengers?" Pepper asks. Confused I glance at Phil, wondering why exactly we're here. "Which I know nothing about." Pepper quickly adds. "The Avengers Initiative was scrapped, I thought, and I didn't even qualify." Stark says.

"I didn't know that either." Pepper says. "Apparently I'm volatile. Self-obsessed. Don't play well with others." "That I did know." I smile a little at Pepper's comments. "This isn't about personality profiles anymore." Phil says. "Miss Potts." Stark calls. "One moment." Pepper says.

She walks over and begins talking to Stark. I turn to Phil. "Wanna tell me what this is really about?" I ask. He sighs. "Last night there was a break in where the Tesseract was being held. It was stolen and Barton was compromised." He says. My eyes widen and my mouth gapes.

Before I can say anything Pepper walks over to us. "Come on, I'll show you two out." She says. She then continues to keep conversation with Phil while I let the new information sink in. Clint is in trouble and I'll be damned if anything happens to him. I'm not losing anyone else that I love.

Once we're out of the building I turn to Phil. "I'm gonna head home. I'll see you tomorrow on the helicarrier. Goodnight Phil." I say. With that I leave him standing in front of the building. I grab a taxi and get a ride home.

When I get there I immediately text Aunt Freya, letting her know that I made it home safely. Once that is done I shower and lay down in bed, thinking over what I had been told tonight. Deciding that I can't sleep I get out of bed and head into my office/spell room.

I sit down behind my computer and hack into the facility that was broken into last night. I hack into the security feed and go to the cams in the Tesseract room. I see the man with greasy black hair with a weird staff thing show up. He starts shooting up the place.

When Clint attacks his he places his staff to Clint's chest and he stops fighting altogether, beginning to aide the attacker. Then everything goes back. I sigh and close my computer. In all my time at SHIELD I've only made a few friends, keeping my numbers limited to a few.

I do this in an effort to have as little people to lose as possible. My friends consist mainly of Phil, Clint, and Natasha Romanoff who trained me when I was seventeen and just starting out at SHIELD. Now one third of the only friends I have in SHIELD is gone.

I'll have to wait till tomorrow when I get to the helicarrier to do a locator spell. Fury keeps a little bit of everyone's blood for me just in case. Now it'll come in handy. Sighing I get up and leave my office and head back to my room in an attempt to get some sleep.

I lay in bed motionless for hours. Finally, around three in the morning I drift off, hoping that tomorrow will bring news of my friend's whereabouts and not more questions. If only my life were more simple and that request was something that was reasonable to ask for in a day.
