Nightmares can only be hurt by animatronics like the shadows, Golden Freddy, Puppet, Lolbit, Glitchtrap, CC and other nightmares. Reason being is that the nightmares aren't hallucinations but they are kinda like ghosts if that makes sense. They literally came out of CC's nightmares. Animatronics like the ones I listed above either have powers or can glitch making it possible for them to hurt the nightmares.
