Bystander:
Stupid, Ugly, Weirdo
The words hang in the air
Students look
Cast worried glances
Move on
Someone should stand up for that poor girl
They think
Then continue on their way
After all, they don't want to be late
Need to meet their friends
Have to go to the office
Don't want to get involved
It'll work itself out,
It's only a few words
It doesn't involve me
She'll be fine
Bully:
Stupid, Ugly, Weirdo
The word spill out of his mouth
She's always standing there
An easy target
Someone to take his anger out on
Day after day
Maybe I should stop
He thinks
But continues with the insults
After all, he can't let anyone think he's weak
Think he's uncool
Think he's a wimp
Know how he really is
I'll stop eventually
It's only a few words
No one will get hurt
She'll be fine
Ally:
Stupid, Ugly, Weirdo
The words cut deep into the girls skin
She can tell
The girl is close to tears
I need to help her
She thinks
Then takes in a deep breath
And tells the bully STOP
Tells him this is not ok
Asks him why are you doing this
Says how would you feel
Says this needs to stop now
The boy crumples up
Runs away
The girl smiles
Wow I really did it
A few words went along way
Thank goodness I said that
Now she'll be fine
