It was late morning, and Angela-Rose was sat in a meeting inside Eddie's office. She watched as he was sat across from her, but she wasn't paying attention to a word he was saying as her mind was elsewhere.
A week had passed since everything had exploded with Amy, a week since she's distanced herself from Luke, and finding out what really happened between him and Amy after she was gone. She didn't want to stay to find out, neither did she want to look at Amy's face of hatred for her and have to relieve the harsh things she had said. There was always something difficult about hearing the truth in a vulnerable and liable moment, but it was worse hearing it when its something you think about everyday, when its something that drives your deepest darkest insecurities and something you secretly tried not to believe.
The truth is not only was she ashamed, but she was embarassed. For a brief moment she had let her guard down and given into the love she had always fell for him, and even though she knew it was wrong, she carried on anyway for a little while, because the feeling of loving someone and having them love you back even more was one of the greatest and rare things in life. She knew that it would backfire. If it wasn't the press finding out, it would be his fiance and it was rightfully so.
Her head has been so clouded, so heavy and numb this past week, that for once she didn't want to think about what would happen next even though that was her job. It would be easier to forget and just go back to the way things were before were her and Luke would hide their feelings and carry on like everything was normal, but things had changed, and there was no going back from it or moving forward until something drastic happens, but she wasn't in the mood for confrontation.
"Angela... Angela-Rose?"
She heard Eddie calling her name, and she quickly snapped out of her thoughts and narrowed her eyes back to him, to see him staring across from her with a concerned look.
"You alright, darling?" he questioned in his deep British accent, as he leaned back in his seat.
Angela-Rose lifted her hand up to rub her eyes together, before answering. "Yeah I'm fine..." she trailed off, unbuttoning the blazer to her white pant-suit, before placing the side of her arm above her seat.
Eddie picked up his bottle of Liquor from far beside him, before grabbing two glass cups. He poured one in, before sliding it over to Angela-Rose. She crossed her legs and shot him a thankful look, before picking up the glass to take a sip of the drink. As she placed it back down on the desk moments later, she began to think back to the last thing she said to Luke and the look in his eyes as she told him she couldn't be with him after all. She knew she had broken his heart, it wasn't the first time she had done that, but there was simply no other choice for her in that moment.
"You look exhausted, have you not been sleeping lately?" asked Eddie.
"I manage the most famous boxer in the world, Eddie. I don't have time for sleep" she scoffed, as she picked up the drink to take a quick sip of it, before picking up some files on the desk to take a quick read of it. "Besides, did you ever get any sleep when you managed my dad?".
"You're right, I didn't most the time, even though Bobby would get at me for not doing so. Managing a big star, mostly a boxer isn't easy, you have to sacrifice a lot of your time for them, but you signed up for it and its worth it every time in the end" he spoke in a reminiscing tone as Angela-Rose slowly lifted her head to look back at him. "How's Luke been ever since the fight with Xavier, is he alright?".
Angela pressed her lips together as she lowered her head back down to continue reading "He's well and healthy, that's what most important" she replied, before picking up a pen to write some notes on the paper.
