driving through the night to smooth jazz sax
laughing just enough to shed a tear
trudging slow and leaving muddy tracks
breathing deep the country sunset airglancing back at tents aglow with light
hearing family laugh and sing and dance
glimpsing sudden groom and bridal white
grinning at the rain's ruined best-laid plansknowing that what God has brought together
no man nor storm could ever separate
the family born tonight will live forever
their legacy will last and be called great
