OLIVE HATED THE RAIN more than the average person. She always felt weird and the humidity of it all messed with her powers. But here she was in the rain standing in between Klaus and Five, slightly under Fives umbrella at her fathers funeral. She never thought she'd see the day but of course the old bastard had to lay one more egg. "Did something happen?" Grace asked
"Dad died, remember?" Allison said
"Oh yes of course" she said
"Is mom okay?" Allison asked
"Yeah, Yeah she's fine. She just needs to rest. You know, recharge" Diego said
Pogo walked outside "whenever your ready dear boy" he said. Luther took the asked and slowly poured them onto the ground, all of it landing in a pile
"Probably would've been better with some wind" Luther said awkwardly
"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo said, everyone was quiet
"very well. In all regards, sir Reginald Hargreaves made me what I am today. For that alone I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master and my friend. And I shall miss him very much. He leaves behind a complicated legacy—" Pogo said
"He was a monster" Diego said, Klaus laughed a bit, before getting elbowed by Olive
"he was a bad person and a worse father. The worlds better off without him"
"Diego" Allison said
"My name is Number Two. You know why? Because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names. He had mom do it"
"Would anyone like something to eat?" Grace asked, not even being sad
"No it's okay mom" Vanya said
"Oh okay"
"Look, you wanna pay your respects? Go ahead, but at least be honest about the kind of man he was"
"You should stop talking now" Luther said getting a bit angry
"You know, you of all people should be on my side, Number One" Diego taunted
"I'm warning you" Luther got more angry
"After everything he did? He had to ship you a million miles away" Diego kept going
"Oh god" Olive scoffed, knowing she would have to break this up, like when they were younger Olive would always be the one to silence them.
"Diego, stop talking" Luther said again
"That's how much he couldn't stand the sight of you!" Diego said tapping Luther chest, then Luther pushed him and tried to punch him, Diego dogged it
"Boys stop this at once!" Pogo yelled, klaus tried to push Five and Olive back protectively But Five pushed his arm, but held onto Olive slightly
"Come on big boy!" Diego yelled
"Stop it!" Vanya yelled
"Hit him! Hit him!" Klaus yelled, Olive nudged him slightly again
Five scoffed "we don't have time for this" he said before walking towards the house. Olive furrowed her eyebrows. Five seemed very antsy since he'd been here.
Diego and Luther slowly made there way over to Bens statue and then Luther went to throw a punch but Diego ducked and Luther instead hit Bens statue, making it fall and then the head came off. Olive started to tear up, then it turned to anger.
"There goes Bens statue" Allison said and Olive walked forward to them using her powers to lift the two grown men up in the air, slightly squeezing her hands to restrict there airflow a bit— only so they couldn't talk.
"you both need to get over yourselves" Olive exclaimed "your grown adults fighting at your fathers funeral— fight all you want, but you brake Bens memorial? One of the only things that we truly had left of him. I can't believe either you. It doesn't matter how messed up our lives have been—" Olive yelled
"Olive" Allison stepped towards her sister, Olive sighed and harshly let go and let her siblings hit the ground, earning a groan from both of them.
"Your lucky I don't electrocute you both right now" Olive said "and trust me, one day I will" she walked off in the house to go find where Five was.
17 YEARS AGO
"Nietzsche once said, "man is as a rope stretched between the animal and the superhuman a rope over an abyss, it is a dangerous crossing. A dangerous looking-back, a dangerous trembling and halting." seven of them stood at the bottom of the staircase in green tracksuits. Vanya blew the whistle and they all started to run up the staircase
Olive was behind Luther, halfway up Five space jumped in front
"That's not fair, Fives cheating!" Diego yelled
"He adapted" dad said
"adapted? alright" Olive used her telekinesis to push through them
"The Ties that bind you together. Make you stronger than you are alone" Olive stood with Klaus and Allison as they cried over the pain of the tattoo, or more of a brand that their father had them get. Klaus comforted both of the girls in hugs, Olive looking to the others on the chairs who were waiting in fear
"They will make you impervious to the pain and hardship the world with thrust upon you. And believe me when I tell you, life will be hard. It will be painful"
PRESENT DAY
"Don't waste your time. Diego's right I shouldn't have came" Vanya said as she stood the foyer with Pogo, as Olive came down the stairs
"This is your home and alway will be. Should I get you a taxi?" Pogo asked
"I already called one. but thanks"
"Bye V" Olive said running towards her and hugging her sister. A horn came from outside
"That's me" she said.
Olive nodded "I love you sis" she said before running off into the kitchen to find Five and Klaus
"What are you doing?" She asked, Five turned to look at her for a moment
"Looking for coffee" he said plainly
"Good luck with that" she said sitting on the edge of the table
"Where's Vanya?" Allison asked walking in
"Oh, she's gone" Klaus said
"Yeah she just left" Olive sighed
"That's unfortunate" Five said walking to stand beside Olive
"Yeah" Allison agreed, thinking he as referring to Vanya
"An entire square block. Forty two bedrooms, 19 bathrooms but no, not a single drop of coffee." Five said disappointed
"Dad hated caffeine" Allison said
"Well, he hated children too, but he had plenty of us" Klaus said
"I'm taking the car" Five said
"I'm coming" Olive said raising her hand
"Where are you going?" Klaus asked
"To get a decent cup of coffee" Five said
"Do you even know how to drive?" Allison asked
"I know how to do everything" Five said grabbing Olive and space jumping to the car
"Jesus, how can you handle doing that?" Olive shook her head as she felt light headed
"You get used to it" Five said while turning the car on
