I hope this finds you guys well! It's been so important to stay healthy and safe, but also to stay sane. So much has been thrown our way, but from seeing your responses, it seems like it was taken in stride. It feels so good to be chatting with you all again. Like, so good.
So here's the deal. What you've read in A Sword of Glass thus far is the continuation of Maren's story as it was originally imagined. It is fully-plotted and prepped for delivery. However, time to work on the manuscript gave me a fresher perspective. If ACoE can actually be picked up by an agent or publisher, I'll know the extent of the series. In other words, I'll be sitting across from people that will tell me what they want. And not only will they be direct, but they'll also possibly want all the rights to publishing the story first.
Due to this, I am going to hold my focus on the first book of this series and turning that into a real thing. Because (1) there is nothing without A Court of Embers and (2) I want to see where that goes before I tumble into a sequel.
Now, does this mean a sequel will never come?
No. That's not what it means at all.
What it means is that if there's going to be a sequel, I prefer it to be hardcover and in your hands. I prefer for it to be on a bookshelf somewhere physically rather than here. And I prefer for you to rummage through it in the late hours of night with a flashlight. Because that would mean it's published traditionally. And that would mean my dream came true.
But if that doesn't happen, then I can still bring it here because I want to be able to enjoy it with all of you like I did from the very beginning. I might be a bit sad (lol) but hey, at least I tried and didn't just sit here biting my nails and minding my business.
In summary, I'm here to thank you for reading the PREVIEW to A Sword of Glass, a story that may or may not eventually hit your local bookstore. But if it doesn't, it'll hit your Wattpad library at a later date. Like when I know if I've made it or haven't.
I will not be updating here until the business with ACoE is handled. Thank you, citizens!

Please take a moment to appreciate the art of readers! Art in itself is such an intimate thing, especially when shared with others and I wouldn't want any of the artists to think I've taken that for granted! It is amazing what you guys can do and every submission/surprise gives me the fuel to run laps around my room until I'm dizzy! Hahaha, thank you so much for giving a bit of your joy to me. ❤️
