timothée sat on the couch in your living room, tears leaving his eyes despite his efforts to blink them away. he had just recently got home from a doctor's appointment with a fertility doctor. you & timmy had been trying for children for over a year now, but nothing was working. so timmy booked an appointment to check if he was the reason you couldn't get pregnant."i'm sorry, mr. chalamet, but you're infertile. maybe recommend to your wife artificial insemination or adoption. come back to us if you have anymore questions."
the voicemail timothèe received from the doctor sent his heart into a rapid frenzy. he had let his phone slip from his fingers and his knees buckle under pressure. he sobbed for himself and for you.
timmy couldn't shake the fear that you'd leave him out of his system. in his mind, him not being able to give you children was an automatic breakup. he dreaded you coming home from work, but, alas, when he heard the faint jingle of keys and turning of the door knob, he took a deep breath and got ready to greet his wife.
you walked into the house looking beautiful as ever, dropping your purse onto the counter. you noticed timothèe standing in the kitchen with red, puffy eyes and tear-stained cheeks.
"baby?" you questioned, walking up to him.
timmy broke out into sobs, clinging onto you for dear life. you caught him in your arms with a confused expression, and rubbed his back in soothing motions.
"i'm so sorry." timmy cried, hugging you harder.
"what? why? honey, what's wrong?" you asked, rubbing his hair.
"doctor c-called back today. i-i can't giv-give you b-babies." timmy broke out into more sobs, this time louder.
your heart dropped. you always found yourself starting your own family with timothèe & when nothing was working, you thought it was your fault. but now to know that it was timmy's, you held so much sympathy for him. but you loved him regardless.
"baby, it's okay. i love you. and we have so many more options." you pulled back to face timothèe with a small, caring smile.
"please don't leave me." he whispered, grabbing your shoulders.
"timothèe, i would never leave you." you cupped his face in your hands.
"but-" he started, only to be shushed by you.
"but nothing, i love you so much and whether or not you can give me babies doesn't make me love you any less." you smiled at him and kissed a tear that had escaped his eye away.
"i love you." timothèe said softly, dropping his head to your shoulder and hugging your waist.
