Realizations

Part 2

Sirius was sitting in the Potter's living room nuzzled into a chair wrapped in a blanket looking down at his lap after he had been hauled inside by a very alarmed James. And after what felt like forever, James' parents spoke up knowing that the Blacks were quite stuck in their oldfashioned ways of thinking and valued tradition, but what was a shaken Sirius doing sitting in there living room shaking. Mr. Potter finally spoke up saying,
"Sirius we love to have you but what would provoke you to come at such a time?"
Sirius looked up from his lap into the eyes of James and his family and he saw everything he never had, a mum who loved him, a father who encouraged him, and overall a happy family full of love. Sirius couldn't take it he looked back down at his lap feeling the tears well up in his eyes and he began to cry. James immediately noticed and spoke softly,
" Pads you gotta talk to us, tell us what happened..."
Sirius glanced up again and took a deep breath still crying but began,
" II got kicked out...James, they did terrible things to me they beat me and abused me and used unforgivable curses on me..."
James was now crying too as was his mother. Mr. Potter then spoke up had seemed like he had heard enough,
"Sirius , my and my wife need to talk some things over well be back shortly."
Both Mr. and Mrs. Potter made their way upstairs and once they were in their room James said,
"Sirius why didn't you ever tell us!? We could have"
Sirius interrupted,
"I'm not done yet there's more. They also found out that I'm gay... James please you can't tell a soul I beg you but III really fancy Remus alright. I just dont know what I was thinking but I had made some sketches of Remus and written a few songs and long story short Kreacher found them and of course told my little brother who is the kiss up he is decided to tell our mother, and my mother, of course, told my father and he beat the living sh*t out of me before scratching my picture off the family tree and throwing me into my room locking the door basically trapping me inside... but please James you can't tell Remus alright if there any chance in a million years he fancies me then I don't want him to pity me alright."
James was now sitting next to a teary-eyed Sirius with tears still in his own eyes. He looked over at his best friend and replied,
"Look Pads I won't tell Remus or anyone for that matter."
With that Mr. and Mrs. Potter had come back downstairs and sat in the chair opposite Sirius and James. It was still unclear where Lily was, probably staying out of the way as not to intrude. Mrs. Potter began,
"Sirius, my husband and I talked and we heard a few of the things you told James and we wanted to know if you perhaps wanted to live with us."
You would have thought Sirius he'd win the lottery or kissed Moony he jumped up from his chair hugging both Mr. and Mrs. Potter saying,
"Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes!!!!"
He went over to James hugging him tight crying once again and going on about thank you.
That night might have been the worst and best night of Sirius' life he had lost his given family but had gained a chosen family which to him was much better because his chosen family loved and wanted him.
