I honestly have no clue why I'm writing this. You won't ever read it anyways, but I guess I plan on writing down some things I wanted to tell you but never got the chance. It's peaceful here, but I get lonely quite often. I'm glad the war is over and you and Lee survived. I hope everyone has been happy and well.
I know you'll never see this letter, but I wish you could. There are so many things I wish I told you while I still had the chance, and now I feel guilty that I never did. I'm sorry.
