It was the middle of the night when this all began. I was vegging out on the couch, watching some dumb cartoon. I had a pack of nutter-butters in one hand and large mountain dew in the other. I had comfortable black shorts on. This complimented my neon pink tank top under a gray zip-up sweatshirt. I then passed out on the couch. BAM! rang from the second floor of my house.
I shot up and began to look around the moonlight lit living room. The moonlight illuminated a figure standing outside my window. The figure's eyes were glowing blood red. This inherently freaks me out. As it would most likely freak you out too. I then smelt smoke so I ran up to the second floor. In an attempt to get my parents out of there. Once I got up to the second-floor fire consumed what was in front of me.
Once I got up to the second-floor fire consumed what was in front of me. I turned around to see more figures in my living room. I thought I was hallucinating when this was happening so in a split second decision I went through the flames. I managed to get to the bathroom with only minor burns. I was trapped in the bathroom which was made worse by smoke seeping into the cracks. I looked around and finally came to the conclusion that my only way out was the window. I attempted to open the plastic lock on the window. It was melting in my hand.
I took my zip-up sweatshirts and tied it around my face. I then slammed my right fist into the bathroom window. The cool summer wind hit my face. Blood soon flooded my hand. Adrenaline was the only thing keeping me moving and ignoring the pain. I climbed onto the toilet and climbed onto the windowsill. The melting plastic burnt the back of my leg but mostly my thigh. I took a deep breath and jumped out.
I slid down my roof and my feet stopped me from falling completely off. The wind brushed my skin. Suddenly the roof from under my feet started to move and I fell into the pool. My leg slammed into the pool ground. The pain from my leg shattering made me fall unconscious. I still think to myself to this day, I should've died that day. I should've drowned that night. If something or someone didn't save me.
