Well, I was taught alkahestry really young. Al told me alchemy has its roots in the energy of tectonic shifts. Alkahestry is based on a concept called the Dragon's Pulse .

Every living organism emits its own flow of chi. Every soul has its own pattern. That's why sometimes, you can feel a presence around you even without seeing, hearing or even touching the person.
