ELIZABETH HAD never felt a stronger urge than the one she had now.
ironically, the guy that flirted with Elizabeth sat in front of her. which allowed her a gracious sight of his beautifully fluffy looking hair.
honestly she wondered if he would be mad if she just reached out and touched it.
"hiiiiii!" Becky whispered, her knees on the pew — that's an actual word — and her little hands gripping the back of it.
the girls grinned, finding her little face adorable. although Natasha isn't one that's.... naturally maternal, it's not a hard thing to pick up on when you have common sense and don't lack a sense of empathy.
"hi." they whispered back, their fingers waving at her.
Becky went to strike up a conversation, until Grayson — natasha is assuming as she's still knew to the twin thing, them being the first twins she's ever met — pulled her around in her seat and sent the girls a sheepish smile.
"hey-!" Becky protested.
however before Grayson could strike it down, a very very very VERY beautiful woman gently shushed her. "Becky honey, we don't yell in a church. sit still and be polite."
"yes mommy." the child hung her head, the words just barely being uttered.
the children around silently laughed.
Ethan. He can feel her eyes on him. it almost makes him want to smirk. wouldn't be the first time he had women's eye on him, but it would be the first time he's interested. that's for sure.
he wants to turn around, talk to her, get to know her... surprisingly. something about her drew him in, maybe it was her body? though he's seen better, maybe her eyes? they were surprisingly piercing, almost as if she could see his every intention.
no. the more thought he puts into it, the clearer it becomes.
it was her.
not her body, not her eyes, not she succulent lips, but her. the way she immediately started flirting back, the way she held her own, it was her personality.
yes he's had women flirty with him before, even try to match his game. yet it was only the start, it felt more like her game than his.
Grayson? eh he just thought Natasha was pretty.
"Well, I don't understand why you had to rent it for the whole weekend." Roxanne — a name the girls just put to the stunning face — spoke.
"because it's a holiday. they won't rent it to you for one night." Lenny spoke with a tone of a sheepish smile, his short black hair barely moving as he looked ever so slightly down at his gorgeous wife.
"so your friends are partying all weekend while you're stuck in dreary old Milan. that was nice of you."
Lenny nodded, oblivious to her sarcastic tone, "it was nice of us. it's your money too, isn't it?"
Elizabeth shook her head, "nice save." she muttered before the girls father leaned in between the married couple.
"yeah, it's your money, it's his money, it's my money. let's put all our cash in a pile and split it." Natasha rolled her eyes and leaned around her sister to hit their father on the back of his head.
their father let out a laugh before looking at Roxanne, "that's a nice hat, it brings out the death in this room."
Higgins looked down before sniffling as the woman turned forward, away from his weirdness, while Lenny still watched his friend with his eyes shining in amusement. "i'm sorry, i'm nervous...and it's a funeral, i get weird."
Roxanne nodded, her brows furrowed as she observed the odd man her husband calls a friend.
"sorry bout him." Elizabeth muttered, harshly grabbing her dad by the collar and slamming him back to the pew, away from the weirded out lady.
Roxanne smiled at her, glad to know she wasn't like her father. oh how wrong she was.
"by the way, if anyone asks, Rita is an exchange student."
also let's acknowledge the fact that Elizabeth is currently needing cpr to start her heart again after the smile nearly killed her.
to be honest, they tuned out Lennys speech, only zoning back in when they heard a awful voice singing. Natasha was laughing silently, like she usually does.
Elizabeth let out a short laugh before she leaned in between the twins, "five bucks he takes it down on one knee."
the twins looked at her, then at each other before taking the deal. Lenny couldn't help but lean forward and offer the same bet to some big blonde white man in front of him after he heard her, knowing she would win.
slowly but surly he did, how Elizabeth predicted that was beyond them, but they each handed her five bucks. accumulating ten all together.
the black headed beauty sat back, giving her sister one of the fives before pocketing the one she had, stuffing it in her bra.
knowing full well Ethan was watching.
Natasha waited for her sister to look down before she lifted her hand, sliding the bill over Grayson shoulder. peeping at it, the man tilted his head back further and whispered for her to, "keep it."
though she shook her head, not wanting to keep money from someone she didn't work for. yes a bet is a bet, but she's never been one to take anything for free.
"you guys won fair 'n square." he whispered again, softly brushing her hand back towards her body.
she looked hesitant which he one-hundred percent found adorable, though despite her taking the money, she knew she was going to give it back eventually. hopefully before the guilt breaks in.
plus, maybe she could use it as an excuse to talk to him?
their dad tapped them on the shoulder, signaling them to do the iconic buzz sound right as the guy on stage stopped singing a random ass opera.
Rob, the guy on stage flung his head up, his toupee almost flying into the statue behind him, a harsh on his face as he snaps at the Higgins family instantly.
"oh grow up will ya!"
everyone laughed, "oh, look at him now. Don't get so mad there, Robbie."
