"Isanghae..." Yongsun mutters quietly to herself as she stared down towards one of her assignments for English. She's been trying to improve her better understanding of the English language recently, and of course it's one of the core classes that the students are required to take in the university. It's challenging most of the time, but she already memorised basic phrases and pronunciations. And since she hasn't taken a proper English course for some time, she's just been revisiting herself.
Her boyfriend, Eric Nam would frequently help with English assignments as well. He was originally born in America but returned to Korea to study. They've been together for almost a year, as they got together before the new year started.
Moonlight poured in through the curtain of Yongsun's dim room. She sat comfortably perched at her little desk with a bright light shining down on her that she could feel the heat of its rays radiate on her skin. She shifts her circular glasses, positioning it in a good spot on her nose before continuing to read out aloud some given vocabulary words along with phrases that her professor had given to the class to study.
"Ecks..siteh..ment?" She furrows her brows in frustration as she read out the challenging word. "Aish, where is my Papago?"
She switches to her English keyboard, typing in the word into the text box.
"Ahh~ heungbun (흥분)." she nods to herself, jotting down a note on the paper and allowing a robotic voice to play the word back to her.
"Excitement."
"Excitement," she repeats, feeling confident. "Excitement, excitement, excitement..." The more she continued to say the word the more her voice trailed off.
As she continued to study, Yongsun tried her hardest to prevent her mind from lingering everywhere. However as she turned towards the window, the moonlight forcing itself in and to reflect onto the wooden floors, her mind ultimately resided on Byulyi.
She chuckles quietly while placing the assignment back into its proper folder and putting it back into her backpack. Yongsun recalled that the both of them had been working on their different songs in their songwriting classroom for the past 3 days. They've gotten through a lot of progress, but most of the time they would result into unnecessary and sometimes deep conversations that didn't relate at all. It was all a cycle; when she talked, Yongsun listened. When she talked, Byulyi listened.
Her company is too enjoyable to resist.
But, throughout those 3 days, Yongsun has learned so much about this girl and it was so unexpected.
She learned that the girl practically lived alone ever since she attended RBW University and that her only company was her two dogs. She had mentioned a friend of hers𑁋Kang Seulgi𑁋whom she's been close friends with for almost her whole childhood. She also found out Byulyi was born in Bucheon𑁋to which she replied with where she was born which was Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
The only strange parts of their conversations is when Yongsun would ask about her family such as what her parents did as a job, or how they were doing, or the last time she visited them. She remembered vividly seeing Byulyi's expressions change in an instant and her body stiffen.
