Right from the start, this book made you think after reading each chapter because each chapter was being narrated by one of three characters and at first their identities were unknown. It was a great read and even though it was the sequel to "The Handmaid's Tale" I think you could get away with reading it first since the story kicks off 15 - 20 years later, there is no overlap. I enjoyed the read because it complemented both the first book and the television series. It was a good conclusion to the memorable, "Handmaid's Tale".
