Layla's POV
"Your first mistake was wearing a regular skirt." I sighed.
"How do you know it doesn't have shorts under it?"
"Because skirts like that don't have shorts under it. Now follow me."
We got the clubhouse. And I led her to Mr. McHart's desk.
"This is Mr. McHart our boss. But I take it you've already met. Over there is the clock in and out which you'll need to do every day. Now if you'll follow me I'll show you where the golf carts are."
"Layla? May I speak to you for a moment?" Mr. McHart asked
"Alone."

"Hey take it easy on her. It's her first day."
"I am." I shot back
"Not from what I saw. Remember how you were at the start."
"I'll do better sir."
"That's the attitude I'm looking for. Now go get 'em"

I rejoined Maddie where she was awkwardly standing near a bookshelf. I couldn't feel half bad.
"Hey you alright?"
"Better then ever." She said shaking as if she'd just gotten the chills.
"Don't worry we won't be in here for too much longer. You just need to clock in then we'll head out back."
She nodded her head and followed me as I lead her to the room with the machine.
"Here's your card. Oh and general you should probably get here 15-30 minutes before you did today."
"Okay" she said in a meek mild voice.
She did her thing and we went out back.

"Have you driven a golf cart before?"
"Once on my 15th birthday."
That had to mean- nope I wasn't gonna let that thought derail me.
"It's pretty easy. It's like driving a car. Which I know you can do."
"That I can."
"Would you rather me drive or you?"
"Oh there's an option?"
"I'm being nice."
"Why don't I drive so I get used to it?"
"Alright. Remember just like a car."
