Lights blinded Carl as they flashed back and forth strobing to the music. Hot, sweaty, bodies pushed against him moving him without thought. Sweat filled the air, along with the burning smell of the smoke machine. The roar was deafening. Part music, part feeling, part raw human emotion. He couldn't think of anything but the hear and now. It demanded his attention and like a jealous lover left no room for anything else. Which was exactly what he wanted. To forget everything that had happened that day. To ignore the horrible reality that awaited him when he left this all behind. He would take every minute of it that he could get.
