Chapter 11

I'm graduating today after four months of writing my waec and neco examination Jabber and I barely hang out we have both been busy but we talk on the phone everyday. My dad is throwing an after party for me today he keeps telling me I have made him a proud father. My mum had been fussing over my gowns for 2 weeks and I must say she outdid herself.

My green satin off shoulder gown was the envy of all.

"Ladies and Gentlemen without wasting much of your time we would love to present this awards to two of our best graduating students" Our Principal announced

"I really hope your name will be mentioned" Yusra said

"Me too" I replied

"Our best graduating student this year is Jabber Yunus"

Everyone applauded and someone shouted that's my brother amongst the crowd. Jabber had a huge smile on his face as he received his award and he was given a mic to say his speech.

Good Afternoon everyone. First of all, I would love to say I feel honored to be presenting this speech right now.

Wow, we're finally graduating!

A big thank you to everyone present here today, thank you to our principal, teachers, families and friends.

You all have shaped us into what we are today, and I can say boldly that without you we would have become very different.

As students and friends, we have made many memories together, many good and some bad, most of which we can now look back upon and laugh!

We have had some of the best teachers, who truly cared about us and taught us with passion. They gave everything they had in hopes of molding great leaders to Society.

I hope the school nurtures better seniors and I wish them best of luck.

Thank you again, and I hope you will hear good things from us in the near future.

Congratulations class of 2017

The whole crowd stood up and applauded I couldn't be more proud of my man and I wanted to scream to everyone that he is mine.

"Thank you Jabber Yunus our second best graduating student is Fatima Usman" Our principal announced.

I went up for my award and everyone applauded especially my dad who had a huge grin on his face.

That evening I was all dressed up in white for my after party. My classmates were all invited and I couldn't wait to see Jabber.

It's an hour since the party started and I'm yet to see Jabber.

"A penny for your thought"

"Oh hi Amir how are you" I said

"I'm fine congratulations" he said and hugged me

"Mmmm!I wriggled out of his embrace

" I'm sorry I'm just happy for you"Amir said

"I understand and thank you" I told him

"Your dad told me I would find you here, I brought you a gift" He said

"You didn't have to" I told him

"Why we are friends right" He asked

"I think"

"Fatima come see who is asking of you" Aliya rushed towards me and dragged me away from Amir

"I love you girl" I hugged her

"I know I noticed how bored you were and being the most amazing best friend I came to save the day" Aliya said and I laughed

" Hey babe"And just like that I felt an instant happiness which only Jabber can make me feel.

Wearing an all white native he looked handsome as always I couldn't stop myself from hugging him immediately.

"Babe not that I don't like this but you do remember we are in a room filled with members of your family" he said

"Shut up and hug me too" I told he smiled and did the same

That night was spectacular I danced and danced till my feet hurt with Jabber, Aliya, Yusra, Khalid and Halima.

The next morning I woke up 12pm to see my mum arranging my clothes into a bag.

"Good morning Mum, what are you doing?

" Sleeping beauty is finally awake, I'm packing your bag you're going on a trip "She said

" A trip but no one mentioned a trip to me"I said suprised

"It was planned yesterday" She told

"Okay where are we going"

"The question should be where are you going"She told me

" I don't understand"

"Fatima,Amir is going to Paris for a week business program, his family is going as well, since Khalid will be needing that training also your father told them you will accompany your brother" She said already done with packing

"Why me why not You or Papa I'll be bored to death" I said already angry about the whole thing

"Don't call the thing that put food on the table boring is that clear, you should start getting used to this since your husband to be will be a business man" She smiled

"Till then I don't want to be sucked into this business world now" I told her

"I understand but your father knows best, hurry up you have an hour to get ready, Mr Simon will be taking you and your brother to the airport to join them".

After hours of being on the plane we finally arrived we were booked at Five Palm Jumeirah a site to behold the first thing I fell in love with was their luxurious beach front. This was my first time here.

" Oh my God"I said

"It's truly beautiful, Adna has been here before he told me about it" Khalid said talking about his best friend Adna.

"Take me pictures Aliya would me jealous" I told him giving my phone to him

We took a couple of pictures and I quickly sent them to Aliya and Jabber.

Jabber wasn't happy earlier when I called him to inform him of my impromptu trip my parents planned but I assured him it was for a week.

Aliya instantly replied when she saw the pictures and she immediately called on video call I plugged in my earphone so we can privately speak.

You witch having a blissful weekend without me

I laughed

Is that how to tell your best friend you miss her

You know I miss you just do and come back

Later I was showed to my room I would be sharing with Khalid it was a superior twin room.

That night I slept like a baby I never knew my week ahead wasn't going to be as enjoyable as I thought.
