she wants your attention

The stress on Chaeyoung's heavy shoulders lifted almost instantly when she walked through the front door, only to hear you laughing as you watched some random video on your phone in your lap.

She shrugged off her light hoodie and hung it up before kicking off her shoes and excitedly sitting down beside you. She noticed, through the few loose strands of hair that had fallen out of your messy bun, that you had put in your earbuds to block out any noise so you could focus solely on the video you were fixated on.

She tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear and watched your lips pull into a smile before you snickered again at the video on your phone. She bit down on her lip, wondering if the volume was low enough that you'd hear her voice.

"Y/N? I'm home, cutie." She smiled and watched your face closely to see if you'd look away from the phone and at her instead. But the volume was louder than she thought it was and, judging by the fact that your eyes were still glued to your phone, she knew you hadn't heard her.

Taking things up a notch, she brushed her fingers along your arm, hoping it'd get your attention. She called your name but you were so intrigued that you still didn't hear her.

Feeling a little needy for your attention and a little annoyed at how you seemed to occupied to notice her, she pouted and let her head fall to your shoulder. She whined and, knowing it was a surefire way of getting your attention, she let her lips brush along your soft, delicate skin.

She pulled your earbud out of your ear and let her lips brush against the shell of it. She smiled instantly when you laughed at the sensation and dropped your phone to finally shirt your focus to her instead.

"Chaeyoung!"

She giggled when you turned and threw your arms around her. She hugged you back, her smile and eyes brighter than ever. "Hello to you too, darling. Finally." She teased and let her fingernails brush along your back absentmindedly. Your skin tingled a little and you found yourself pulling away from the hug to kiss her lips instead.

"Missed you today." She mumbled against your lips before pulling away and tucking a lock of hair behind your other ear. Looking into your eyes, she saw that sparkle, telling her that you were just as happy as she was.

"Missed you too. I'm happy you're home! Hope your day was wonderful and that tomorrow is even better." You grinned and then placed your cheek on her shoulder. Closing your eyes, you relished in the feeling of her fingertips brushing along your shoulders as you both soaked in some much-needed time together.

"It was good, thank you. Even better now that I'm home with you. I'm yours for the rest of the day." She whispered softly and in response, your heart began to beat faster in your chest. You were already starting to think of what you could do together, so excited to spend every second by her side.
