"Because?" Towa repeated.
"Stupid Koh would always draw a Tyramigo at the end of every letter," Melto explained.
The two sides of the villagers stopped fighting. The Tyra tribe was scared of what's going to happen next as their leader had fallen down. Banba still held his sword out.
"You think we'll believe that," Towa asked. Melto immediately pulled out another letter that Koh had written days before and show it to Towa.
Towa hastily took it and show it to Banba and Asuna. Banba's eye widened, realizing there might have been a misunderstanding. While Asuna remained emotionless, only glancing towards the fallen king on the ground.
"What should we do now, your majesty?" Banba asked as Towa handed back the letter.
"Call in for retreat until this is clearly solved." Asuna declared. Then she turned to Melto.
"And as of for your king, followed us as our medic is best out of all tribes." Asuna stated. Canalo looked at her and glanced back at Melto.
"Why bother to help us? And why should we trust you?" Melto asked.
"If you are giving the letter to us to prove your trust, then why not? Beside innocent until proven guilty." was all Asuna said as she turned around and headed back.
Melto told Canalo to holler 'retreat' as Melto and Canalo helped carry Koh towards the Ryusoul Tribe's medic house. Part of them wondered why they were willing to risk it all and trust Asuna.
"Please tend his injury," Asuna told the nurse.
"Right away your highness." the nurse replied and hurried towards Koh.
Koh winced in pain.
"Koh!" Canalo and Melto called out.
"He should be fine. I'll put on some herbs and I'll bandage for him. However, he must not engage in any battles until his injury fully recovered." the nurse informed, heading to get all the equipment.
"Thank you," Melto stated.
Asuna leaned against the wall observing the situation. She wondered why with all these pains he still cracked a smile towards his villagers. There was this indescribable feeling running within her. As if she pitied him, no not pitied, admired his tenacious attitude, in holding on to a positive light.
"Why are you smiling like that?" she has finally spoken up as she could not take it any longer. Melto and Canalo looked up at her with a confused expression.
"Yes?" Koh asked, winced in pain as the nurse applied the herb.
"How can smile like that after I injured you?" Asuna repeated her question.
"Is there a rule forbidden someone to smile during this situation?" Koh questioned back. Asuna looked surprised but of course, she did show it.
"No, I presume. But still--we are enemy. At least until everything is solved. But your men are willing to risk it all and come to our medic. And you, even though you are in pain, you still smile. How is that possible?" Asuna poured out all her emotion why questioning him.
It was a strange feeling for her. It was surprising for them as well. Koh was one of them. He wondered what happens to such a girl that made her locked up all of her frustration and feelings like this.
"If I can't provide the positivity for myself, how can I spread this positivity to my people," came Koh's answer.
"I admit positivity is necessary. But too much of it could lead to action as a betrayal from your own people as they know you are not fit for the thrown. Am I right?" Asuna stated back.
"It seems like you don't have enough trust in your people," Koh commented.
"What did you say?" Asuna declared back, raising her voice. The nurse finally finished bandaging for Koh. She bowed and walked out.
Melto and Canalo tried to stop Koh from saying more irritating sentences since they are in the enemy's territory.
"May I remind you, the reason for this misunderstanding was a letter sent from your tribe." Asuna reminded them.
"It does not mean that your tribe didn't attack Tyramigo," Melto told her.
"We have a reputation that we keep up with. Every villager is not allowed to leave without my permission. No guard can not act on their own unless Banba instructed them to. By far, our Ryusoul Tribe is the friendliest out there." Asuna stated as Towa came in and informing her of the current situation. He walked up to Asuna and whispered in her ears.
Koh could see Asuna's facial expression remain neutral as the information being delivered to her. He sighed in his head. After Towa and Asuna were done whispering, the tension in the atmostphere somewhat died down.
"We had prepared a space for you to rest until this is solved. But I suggest one of your best men should remain in the village as of right now, it seems like there is a traitor living in the mist." Towa explained.
"We don't need you to tell us that. Thank you." Melto stated. Towa and Melto glared at each other.
"Melto," Koh warned him. "You go back there to check things out. Canalo can stay here with me."
"Hai." Melto slightly bowed at Koh then Asuna and left.
"Towa, take them to their room for now." Asuna instructed.
"Yes, your highness," Towa replied. But Melto and Banba both came rushing in before they could leave.
"What's the matter?" Koh asked, wondering why Melto hasn't left.
"What seems to be the issue here, Banba?" Asuna demanded to know.
"The Tyramigo is out of control. It's heading towards our way, your majesty." Banba stated.
"I could reach back to the village...As if someone is purposely blocking me from leaving." Melto informed Koh.
Asuna and Koh could only stare at Banba's and Melto's eyes. Seems like Asuna's prediction was correct, there's indeed a traitor within the Tyra Tribe. And troubles are arising soon.
