"Come on, hurry!" Minho urged, already grabbing my hand to pull me up, pulling me behind an old car for none of the creatures to notice. Changbin came up a second later, Felix closing behind him. I could see him mouth a small 'good luck' before disappearing, leaving the three of us behind.
"So, what's the plan?" I whispered to Minho, who seemed to pretty much be in charge already. Minho put an arm in front of me, keeping me back and out of sight while he checked the streets. There seemed to be quite a few of them, more than expected, already quite close like Seungmin had warned. "Shit" he muttered under his breath.
Changbin did the same as Minho, making sure I wouldn't be moved while carefully glancing over the old and rusty car. He quickly crouched back down with a defeated look. "There's too many. We could make it there, but how on earth do we go back?" he whispered to Minho, who seemed to be in deep thought.
"I could go as decoy. I'll distract them while you two run ahead, just make sure to stay close to the store doors for when I need to get in." Changbin nodded easily, making my eyes widen in disbelief. "Are you being serious here? Do you have any idea how dangerous that is?" Minho rolled his eyes, yet somehow seeming a bit touched. "We're all putting our lives on the line, so this is no different."
"I'll go" I said without even thinking. All the time I've been getting complaints that I wasn't doing enough, if this doesn't count I'd be convinced nothing would be. Maybe I was just trying to prove Felix wrong because I was jealous of him, but at this point, who cared. I wouldn't have made it anyways if it weren't for them, so I could at least return the favor.
"You've got to be kidding me. Are you dumb?" Minho lashed out, barely able to keep whispering. "Listen. You've already put yourself through enough danger and frankly, I don't think you'll last out there for even a minute. You just be a good girl and follow Changbin." Okay, he had a point, I probably wouldn't make it out there, but the way he said it, gosh did that man get on my nerves.
"Y/N, Minho is right. Why on earth do you keep putting yourself in danger like that? Don't make me any more worried than I already am about you" Changbin muttered quietly, clearly looking uncomfortable. All my irritation seemed to have disappeared at the sound of his voice, but I still couldn't help it.
"I know that I might not be that fast or strong, but please, let me go" I said once more. If not for others, I at least wanted to prove to myself I hadn't just been a burden to them. That I could help too, that I actually helped too.
Minho sighed, looking over at Changbin. "Only if Changbin approves" he quickly muttered, still not seeming too happy with the decision. Changbin obviously didn't like it either, especially after seeing how determined I was, because he knew he couldn't change my mind. "Fine" he finally mumbled, grabbing my hand. "But you have to promise you make it there safely or I'm not letting you go." I chuckled quietly, nodding. "Don't worry, I got this!"
I tapped on my earpiece before standing up. "Seungmin, you still have an overview right? Can you lead me through a detour to the store?" It stayed quiet for a while. "Y/N, it's Jeongin here! I'm taking over for now. Seungmin filled me in, I'll guide you!" A small smile formed on my face, happy to hear his voice so energetic again. I quickly glanced over at Changbin and Minho, my smirk only growing wider. "It was nice knowing you guys!" I joked before standing up, running in the opposite way.
"Catch me if you can you stupid brainless plants!" I yelled from the top of my lungs at a safe spot, seeing all the heads turn within a split second, giving me chills all over. I slowly started stepping backwards, putting my thumbs up to Changbin and Minho once more to prove I was okay before starting to run, making sure every single one of them was following.
The adrenaline was flowing through my body, too hyped to feel scared. "Y/N, watch out, there are a couple of them around the corner" Jeongin instantly warned, making me run to the other side of the street. Just like he said, two of them came stumbling, almost catching me. If I didn't move to the side I would have gotten caught. "Thanks Innie!" I shouted through my com, already out of breath.
"How are Bin and Min doing?" I gasped, desperately trying to keep up the pace. "They're as good as inside, safe and sound. You should start turning back there" Jeongin answered. "Go the first two left when you can. The streets might be a bit narrow but you should be able to get through just fine!" I nodded, already running to my left with more and more following behind me.
I turned another one left, back on my way to the store while the alleys seemed to be getting more narrow. One accident and I'd be done for in these paths. "Shit, Y/N, in front of you!" Jeongin shouted in my ear in horror. I looked in front of me, seeing one of the creatures right in front of me. I instantly looked back, seeing the rest of the flock close behind me.
"Jeongin, what the heck do I do!" I shouted back terrified. I couldn't stop running, that would definitely kill me. I couldn't go to the sides, the walls blocking the way. All I could do was run into that one and just pray I could get past... somehow.
