Jung Soo looked at Hee Chul in surprise and wondered that if not him then who is Hee Chul talking about. Before he could put his very evident query into words, he got the answer when he heard the other saying " I am taking Heemi with me. As her eomma, I have the rights to introduce her to her samochan (uncles). Any objection?" He nodded in understanding but then something stroke him suddenly and he said " she doesn't know my past. I am going to break her trust as well. I am going to loose her as well." He started sobbing as soon as he completed his sentence.
Hee Chul just hugged him tightly this time and said nothing. When he calmed down, he said " you are not going to lose her, ever. Like today, I will make sure to bring her back to you. And you are not going to loose us ever again as well because I will now stay beside you, forever." Both smiled at each other.
Suddenly Hee Chul said " I have had a busy day and have a tough evening tomorrow so I would like to sleep now." Jung Soo just nodded in agreement and got up to leave but he couldn't as something was eating him from inside and he had to let it out. So, he asked " why didn't you ask me Chul?" "Asked you what?" came as a leisure reply from the person asked. "You know very well what I am talking about?" said an irritated Jung Soo. "Because I know you are not ready for it right now and when you will be you will yourself tell me. I don't want to force you. Now, let me sleep. Good night." Said a sleepy Hee Chul who went to dreamland straight after. He just looked at the sleeping beauty in front of his eyes, wondering how he got so lucky, kissed the temple of the sleeping person and left to sleep.
Next morning, as he woke up, he found his daughter not on bed and worried. He went outside to look for her and was mesmerized to see her playing with her eomma cum his love while laughing whole heatedly. He looked at them for a few minutes until he heard Hee Chul calling him and saying that he was hungry and needed some breakfast. He looked around in the kitchen and found some ramen packets as the rice had only ended the day before. He just cooked it the way he remembered for Hee Chul's liking and served it. Then they both looked at each other in understanding and nodded.
Suddenly Hee Chul spoke up " Heemi, would you like me to be your eomma?" She looked at both of them, thought for a few minutes and then said "if appa has no problem then I would love to have you as my eomma." Her answer brought smile to both of their faces and they kissed her on her either side of cheeks. Then he again asked " would you like you to spend a day out with me? Just you and me." She looked at her father, who nodded assuringly and so she said she would love to.
Jung Soo dressed her up quite warmly so she could leave with Hee Chul before lunchtime starts. He didn't know what the other had planned but since, he didn't want to look doubtful, he didn't ask. Before leaving, Hee Chul said "I have ordered delivery for you and we will be heading to my house the first thing, then lunch and shopping and finally the meeting." He closed the door as soon as he finished. Jung Soo just kept staring at the door wondering what awaits him.
Hee Chul enjoyed his afternoon pampering his daughter, buying her dresses and plushies and doing everything for her. As the time neared, he became a bit scared but then he knew he was doing it for his love which gave him courage. So, he stepped forward and asked his daughter, with her hands in his" do you know the people you saw from the window on Christmas eve, eomma's friends?" She replied happily " I have seen most of you on tv or in appa's phone but nothing more. I also know that you are very famous and rich. That's it." "Would you like to meet them?" He asked again. She said a yes nonchalantly. He said this time "we are going to meet them at the place you and me first met."
She looked at him as if asking for confirmation and when he nodded, she felt overjoyed and hugged him tightly.
The time came and they finally reached their destination. He saw from the window that everyone was already there and they have brought their spouses, which he expected. He went in holding the hands of his little girl who just clutched onto him more tightly. As soon as he entered, everyone looked at him questioningly but then they saw the girl and started staring at her. All these gazes made her nervous and she was beginning to sob.
He felt her shivering and hugged her while saying " guys, you are making her nervous and scared, avert you gazes." Everyone complied. After she calmed down, he placed her on the chair, knelt down in front of her and said "so baby, as you know, all of these are eomma's friends but they don't know you. I want you tell them about you like a big girl you are, okay?" She nodded and looked back up only to see that everyone's face had the same expression of astonishment and anticipation.
She finally spoke, " hello, my name is Park Heemi and I am 7 years old. My appa adopted me when I was 4 months old and since then he has been taking care of me. He is a big fan of all of you and every Christmas eve, we come here to watch all of you from that bench." She said pointing towards the bench. Everyone was shocked but she didn't notice and continued " I lost my way back to appa yesterday when we came to watch you and that's when I met eomma. UMmmm....yeah, that's it." She said concludingly. "Very good girl. I am so proud of you and now eomma needs a minute to talk to her friends. You can play in the park outside but don't leave the restaurant, okay." Said Hee Chul. She nodded and left.
As soon as she left, the first person to speak up was Kyuhyun. He shouted " What the actual f***? So, you met Teukie hyung yesterday, then why is he not here today?" Everyone else, who were still recovering just nodded. Hee Chul calmly replied "he is way too afraid to face all of you and believes that you guys hate him."
"Of course we do. He just has to answer our questions to love him again." Said a crying Donghae. Replying a meek okay, Hee Chul took out his phone again and said "hello, this is Kim Hee Chul and I would like to make a reservation for tomorrow..........I would like to book the whole floor and *whispered something no one could hear* ................thank you, we will be there by 7:30. Thank you again." He ended the call and said to everyone " you heard me right. Meet me at this place at 7:30 pm. Your spouses can come but drop your kids off at Yesung's cafe. See you guys tomorrow." And he left with that, keeping others wondering.
