Goodbye

The rain pierces my skin,

What had I done that was considered a sin?

The rocks jab the soles of my feet,

I was blinded by the immense heat.

I roamed around the woods, both day and night,

Will I ever win this never-ending fight?

My body felt numb, completely free of all feeling,

It continued breaking and never healing.

I was reckless and I was stupid,

Why did I ever leave?

Oh, that’s why because I was rumored to be a thief.

I didn’t do anything, I promise you I didn’t,

I didn’t even bother to try,

Knowing that if I do I will only deny.

I didn’t stop nor did I care,

This was the only option. It was only fair.

My head hurt, my body shook,

People knew I was there but never dared to look.

This is me, this is I,

I was here but now I’ve gone.

Ta ta, toodle doo, goodbye.
