BONNIE MADE HER way to Dumbledore's office after classes the following day. She had to relearn her schedule and try to understand where she was at in her studies. She forgot what it was like to wake up so early for lessons, but she embraced the moment when Lily asked to braid Bonnie's hair. She allowed the witch to do whatever she wanted.

At the party the night prior, James had succeeded in annoying Lily to the point where Lily pulled Bonnie back to their dorms, but Bonnie wasn't too miffed. In the time James was away with her, Bonnie spoke to the other three Marauders. They were drunk, so they probably wouldn't remember much, but it felt like it had before her mother threatened their lives.

The lessons were as dreadful as she remembered, but she also was ahead in her magic. Because she had performed all of these spells before, she knew she could do it. It came effortlessly to her, which made Lily gawk at her questionably. Bonnie had never really been good at practicals right away. Smiling sheepishly, she had no answer for Lily as to why she was suddenly excelling at Charms.

It was right before dinner, so she knew Dumbledore would be in his office. Saying the password, she easily climbed the stairs on the gargoyle. When she made it to his office, she knocked thrice before being allowed to enter.

Albus Dumbledore looked worn down, more so than usual. He smiled at her warmly, but his eyes were exhausted. Bonnie made her way to his desk when he motioned for her to do so.

"I think you should start by explaining the Horcruxes to me so I completely understand," Dumbledore asked her lightly.

Bonnie frowned, hoping what she knew was enough. "There are six. Each holds a part of Voldemort's soul, and he can't die if they aren't destroyed. A ring, I believe it was Marvolo Gaunt's ring. A diary that would preserve Tom's sixteen-year-old body. The diadem of Rowena Ravenclaw. The goblet of Helga Hufflepuff. The locket of Salazar Slytherin. And Nagini, his snake at that time. I'm not really sure if any of these are even Horcruxes yet, sir, because of the time difference. I'm worried."

Dumbledore sighed tirelessly. "This will be a lot harder than I thought. Helena would know where the diadem was. As for the ring, I know somewhat of where that is. I'm not sure at the moment about the goblet or the locket. The diary would most likely be with him, along with the snake. This will be difficult, indeed. How was the diary found?"

Bonnie frowned thinking of the story she had heard briefly. "Something about the Chamber of Secrets and the Weasley family in the future. Lucius Malfoy gave it to Ginerva, she'll be the youngest Weasley."

"Well, we'll start with Malfoy Manor first."

"But, sir," Bonnie said, "What if it's not there yet. Is Malfoy a Death Eater yet?"

Bonnie knew the git was in his seventh year of Hogwarts with Bellatrix Black. Narcissa was in her sixth year, this year. A part of Bonnie just wanted to kill all the Death Eaters now. Is that so wrong?

"I'm sure he is, but you are right. I'm not sure he'll have it yet. Anything you know about the goblet?"

"It was in Bellatrix's vault at Gringotts, but who knows if it's there yet," Bonnie mumbled, remembering the news of Harry breaking into Gringotts. This was so difficult. What if she couldn't save her friends? Her heartbeat increased as her nerves did the same.

"Calm yourself, Miss Miller. We have a few years to work it out. Tom isn't killing as often as you say he was. I'm sure he's still gathering followers," Dumbledore tried to soothe her, but she only nodded. Her voice was locked. Dumbledore sighed again. "We'll try to figure more out on Friday. I'll be on the search for that ring. Go to dinner, Miss Miller."
