"YOU BETTER HOPE your father isn't home, you disgraceful witch," Theodosia snarled out to Bonnie, grabbing her arm forcefully when the fifteen-year-old reached her. "Christopher is waiting by the barrier... maybe he'll straighten you out."
Bonnie yanked her arm out of Theodosia's grasp causing the mother witch to glare heatedly at her. "You better act like a mother while we're in public," Bonnie snarled right back. "You don't want to ruin your perfect image."
"You've already done that. Sirius Black? A horrid boy to be friends with... you've heard what he's done to his family! Let's go," Theodosia said, going up to Christopher. His angry eyes darkened when Theodosia mumbled something to him. "Grab her, Christopher, to Apparate."
Bonnie felt Christopher yank her arm in the same manner as Theodosia, so she quickly tightened her grip on her trunk. The feeling of being sucked in a tube reminded her of when she shook Harry Potter's hand, and for a moment, she felt her throat tighten at the thought of going through that again. She felt her stomach being pulled in different directions while her head felt as if someone was tugging on her hair harshly. When the nauseous feeling dissipated, Bonnie opened her tightened eyes to see the living room of her old Manor. Bonnie glanced at Christopher to see him smirking slightly at her. His grip on her arm didn't falter.
"Go to your room, Bonnie. I don't even want to look at you right now. When your father gets home, you'll wish you'd have behaved better," Theodosia said with her own smirk. "Let her go, Christopher."
Christopher waited a moment before squeezing her arm once as a warning. He let it go, and Bonnie quickly took off to her room.
Once she was able to get her trunk in the room, she slammed her door, glaring at the wood as if it was at fault. She could hear Christopher and Theodosia conversing like normal people downstairs, not one thinking of the havoc they created in Bonnie's head. It was as if she hadn't gone back in time at all. She remembered this moment, she remembered what was to come next. A tear left her eye at the thought. She refused to back down as she did in her past life. She would fight.
Bonnie was able to lay in her bed and stare at the ceiling long enough. She heard when her father came home, and she dreaded to hear what he had to say. The Great Abram Miller can't have his daughter associating with blood-traitor Black. It felt as if she was stuck in her head, her breathing becoming rapid again. She longed for Remus to speak to her to calm her down, or Marlene to hug her tight until it passed. Clawing at her throat, her eye caught the jacket sitting at the edge of her bed. Picking it up quickly, she held it up to her face.
The smell of cigarettes and petrichor was all she could smell; Sirius. Her thoughts broke free from her family, moving to the ebony-haired boy who always made things better even if he wasn't there. She could hear footsteps pounding up the stairs, her mother's chuckles following. She could feel her nerves spiking again, but the smell of Sirius immediately pushed them away. Putting down the jacket, she stood to wait for her father. There was no way this would end favorably for Bonnie, but damn it, she was done being a coward.
The door slammed open, and the furious face of Abram Miller was there in all his glory. The only thing that she loved about her thirty-seven-year-old self was the fact that he was dead. But, now he wasn't. He was standing there looking murderous.
Bonnie leaned back on her bedpost and smirked, faking confidence. Maybe the smell of Sirius had done something to her brains because instead of thinking of what she was going to say and planning out her move, she blurted, "What're you going to do, father?" in a sneer that would make Lucius Malfoy proud.
His eyes flared, and before she knew it, his hand was clasped around her throat. Her eyes bulged as he said in parseltongue, "How dare you! You disgraceful piece of shit! You have no right to talk to me that way."
