♕ Benji ♕
The office door slams open, shaking under the intensity of the sheer force used. The sudden noise catches the attention of the two men waiting for me inside. Both Alaric and Jeremiah seem unfazed by my display of emotions - they are used to it at this point.
"If you break the door again, the pack isn't paying for it."
A snarl rips through my chest. I know it's my wolf breaking through. I wouldn't normally get so upset over Alaric's teasing, but I can't help it. It's as if all my control has slipped through my fingers all because of Aria's little stunt.
"It's not broken," I look over at the door as I speak, checking for any breaks in the wood. It, surprisingly, is still upright and scratch-free. "so no problem."
A sarcastic smile tugs at Alaric's mouth, "Yeah, no problem at all."
"Do you have something to say to me?" I grumble between clenched teeth, staring back and forth between the two men, daring them to try my temper. "Because if not, we have actual pack business to deal with."
The past three days have been infuriating. I thought I had everything under control - that I had figured out a solution to make everyone happy and off my back. But apparently not, I bitterly thought, hearing the hum of my wolf's agreement in my head.
My wolf has been difficult to deal with. Things just keep stacking up against us, beating us while we are already down. I have my father breathing down my f-cking back, critizing every decision I even think of making. Aria is torturing me, whether she knows it or not, by giving me the cold shoulder. Every time I get near that little vixen, she disappears without a word. Thank Goddess I never officially announced the date of the ceremony, or else I'd have to come up with some excuse for the pack on the delay. And, to top it all off, those insufferable rogues are back.
Thankfully Alaric and his border patrol team has been quick to pick up on their foul smells. But they're getting more daring and too close to our borders. I know they are planning something. I can feel it.
Alaric throws his hands up in the air, shrugging his shoulders. "Hey, down boy. No need to take your anger out on me."
"Enough!" I growl, the Alpha tone seeping in through my command. Alaric is too snide for his own good sometimes. "My personal life is not either of your concerns. Lets just get this over with so we can all leave." I gesture towards the pile of paperwork staking up on my desk.
Today is going to be a long day.
♕ Aria ♕
The cold air bites at my skin as I wait outside the center. I was in too much of a rush this morning to grab a sweater before leaving. Avoiding Benji has been harder then I thought it would be. I can feel his stare whenever I'm near him, slowly breaking my resolve. His smell alone is torturous. My best form of defense has been to completely avoid him, hence the missing sweater. I waited upstairs for too long, trying to avoid his morning presence, that Jeremiah's arrival snuck up on me.
Speaking of Jeremiah, I could see his approaching form slowly making his way closer. His strides were lazy and short. Normally, I would be irritated by his late arrival. Noah didn't volunteer today, so I had no one to keep me company outside. I guess I could of asked Elise to stay with me for a few moments, but I would feel too guilty. That girl is a saint looking after all these pups with barely any help. But, considering the situation, Jeremiah was actually doing me a favor by showing up late.
