Chapter 5 - Suspicious

The girls looked quite calm.

"No sorry, we haven't really seen anyone near there, most of the people from school say the place was abandoned in the late 1900s. The only person I've seen near the front door of that house was Xylo, but that was about 2 years ago. No one has been near that house from what I remembered." Samantha proposed.

"Oh," I slightly uttered in response. "Maybe I should check it out or something, I have skills when It comes to investigating random shit. My dad taught me some things before my grandma died." I exclaimed. "It has been quite a while since I used those skills so maybe right now would be a good time to test them out again."

"I mean its really up to you, but I'd suggest not, the place looks old, so for all we know the roof could fall it as soon as you open the door." Samantha acknowledged. She did have a point I didn't know what to expect especially seeing how It had been abandoned in the late 1900s according to Samantha. I still wanted to explore it though. I had school tomorrow so I would've had to explore it on the weekend, particularly at night so my dad wouldn't notice I was gone. It seemed interesting anyways.

A few hours later it ended up turning 8:27 pm. It was getting pretty late so the girls and I headed home for dinner and to get ready for bed so we could meet at school tomorrow in the morning. When I got home, I had to somehow climb into the window, I jumped up and grabbed the window ceil and pulled myself into my room, plopping down onto the bed straight after. I had a great time with the girls at blue bay café, we talked about a lot more than just the abounded house, we talked about making friends, a good first day and just about school in general.

The next morning my dad came into my room and woke me up to get ready for school because if I slept in any longer I'd be late, I looked at him in one eye then when he left the room I got up and got dressed, I put on some biggish sweat pants and a plain white t-shirt and jacket. When I got downstairs my dad was dishing up pancakes, he put them on the counter for me and picked up his bag to walk out the door and go to work. I quickly ran over to him to apologise for how I acted around his girlfriend I didn't want to apologise but he was my father and if anything, he deserved my respect and my apologies for my bad actions. He ruffled my hair and smiled then walked out the door, got into his car and drove away to the city. I ate the pancakes dad made me, picked up my bag and ran to school.

While I was running to my locker, I thought I heard someone call out my name, so I turned my head, forgetting to stop running, then, I bumped into someone. I squeezed my eyes shut scared to death that I was going to fall onto the floor when I felt two strong hands grip onto me to hold me up, I tumbled to stay onto my feet and slightly fell against them. I didn't know who they were, but their skin felt a lot colder than the normal human's temperature. They helped me back up to stand straight, I looked up to see Xylo, my face turned red because of how close we were to each other. I stepped away.

"Heh thanks for that, I should probably watch where I'm going," I said. He let out a low and soft chuckle that only lasted for 3 seconds.

"It's alright, I've done what you did a few times, its like my feet won't stop moving." He replied. He seemed a lot happier than yesterday, his skin was cold though. The normal human's body temperature was around 37 degrees, but his felt like 28 degrees. It was so much colder; I know It felt the same as yesterday, but it was just so strange. The blood that was seen on his shirt after Jay found him in the bathroom stall with someone also made me suspicious about him. As much as I didn't want to be close to him for some strange reason it calmed me to feel him against me. Obviously, I felt calm around my friends and my dad, but him. Why?

"Your uh your skins really cold, are you feeling sick?" I asked politely so it could look like I was looking out for him and maybe get an answer out of him.

"Oh no I'm feeling okay, I've also been born with colder skin than the normal human temperature. I'm not sure why either if that's what you're actually asking." He explained, it was like he knew I lied to him, but he also looked like he just knew I was confused and curious. He looked away and then back at me, I faintly heard his stomach growl and nodded to excuse him. Once he walked off, I watched him start talking to a random guy, the guy looked scared and then he started following Xylo somewhere. I raised an eyebrow and followed them from a fair far distance and watched Xylo bring the guy into the bathroom.

What the hell? I thought to myself. My suspicions grew bigger. I walked to the bathroom door after they had both walked in and put my ear against the door to listen closely and see if I could find out anything. I couldn't hear anything and when I heard footsteps I quickly hid behind the wall, Xylo walked out and then walked away. My curiosity grew even bigger, I was so confused. I walked into the bathroom and looks around; the other boy was gone. He never exited the bathroom.

That's when I spotted it, red, there was that same red liquid on the floor in one of the stools. It was like the stain that Jay saw on his shirt and the stain I saw on his mouth on the first day of school. I walked over to it and touched it with my index finger and licked it. It was blood. I thought I was going to freak, has Xylo been taking peoples virginities or something?! I grabbed some toilet paper and wiped the blood off from the floor, put the paper in the toilet and flushed it. I was so curious, and I wanted to know what this guy was doing.

After classes one and two, it was recess, I was casually chatting to Jay and Samantha outside while we ate our food. I didn't mention anything to them about Xylo because who knows what would happen if I did and Xylo found out. For all, I know he could rape me as well. I once again fell into my deep thoughts, pretty much ignoring both of them, staring at the floor in silence. Everything was just silent and then I was shaken.

"Wake up!" Samantha shook me at a fast pace, my eyes blinked about 20 times in a row and I looked at her.

"Hi?" It was the first thing to come out of my mouth, I casually started eating my chips again as if nothing happened.

"Are you okay, you spaced out for almost 10 minutes?" He asked, Jeez I was thinking for that long? I wasn't too sure what to say but all I wanted to do was continue thinking.

"Yeah, sorry. I'm okay, just thinking about stuff that's all." I replied hoping not to look suspicious or at least look like I wasn't lying. They didn't suspect a thing and believed me. We all continued to chat for the rest of recess and thankfully I didn't space out this time. We talked on and on and on and on and on. Eventually, recess was over and we had to go to class, I had drama, with Xylo. I was obviously going to be his partner in the lesson because I needed to act as a friend, and I couldn't seem scared of him or he'd know that I knew something.
