Unexpected Love

The Tablet of Ahkmenrah part 1

As I walk in the museum, I glance around to look for Rebecca (A/N : sorry I mispelled it last chapter) but well she is not here. 'Maybe she is on a tour with bunch of tourists' I though. Not waiting for anything, I walk, well technically skipping, to my fav place.

The one and only Temple of Pharaoh Ahkmenrah. I put my bag on the bench and walk up to the sarcofagus. I knock on it softly and lean myself on the lid. "Hi Ahk, how are you ?" I sigh "Well tonight maybe I'll be here maybe not depends on if Larry is still here or not but I--"

My sentence stop as I heard Rebecca voice in front of the door. "And finally, this is the Temple of Pharaoh Ahkmenrah" she lead in maybe 15 children "Hi Eliz" she say when she spot me. Hurriedly, I walk away from the sarcofagus.

"Children, this is Eliza, she is doing research about the Pharaoh" Rebecca tell the children. A boy from the front of the group raise his hand "Ms.Eliza ?". I spot him and say "Yes ?". He looks like he want to speak out his sentence but he maybe think about it again.

Finally he say it out "Did you just talk to the sarcofagus ?". I try to hide my face because I'm sure it is red. Fortunately for me, Rebecca manage to distract the boy. "Err Eliza, maybe you can explain to us about the Pharaoh"she say to me. I immediately straighten up and point to the sarcofagus.

"This is the sarcofagus of Pharaoh Ahkmenrah" I pause "Inside this is the Pharaoh himself, that 20 feet gigantic anubis statues are suppose to be the Pharaoh guardian but well they are just statue so" Rebecca glare at me "Oh yeah well, that chest over there is where all possesion of the Pharaoh stored. But the only important possesion is The Tablet of Ahkmenrah"

I pause and point to Tablet. "This Tablet is a give from his parents to him" I pause "Hmm I thing thats it for the Pharaoh, thank you for listening" I smile and wave goodbye. Suddenly, I remember what to ask "Rebecca ! Bec ! Wait up". She pause before telling the kids to wait downstairs.

"Err Bec, will the new night guard come tonight ?" I slip a strand of my hair behind my ear. She cross her arms on her chest before anawering "Don't you know ? He got fired yesterday". My eyes went wide and I'm positive that my face look weird. I just nod and walk away back to the Temple.

I stomp in rage inside the Temple. With no night guard that means I can't stay all night again ! I snatch up my bag and slung it on my shoulder. "Goodbye !" I shout to the sarcofagus. I ran out the museum and get back home.

I'll be back tonight

5.30 pm. I look at my watch as I exit my taxi. I twirl around on my heels when I heard my name "Eliza ?". I jog down the stairs and approach him "Larry ! What are you doing here ?". He nod to his side and my eyes follow him when I spot a boy. "Oh" I nod.

As we come in, Larry take out his keys. I look at him and he just shrug his shoulders. "Eliza, could you wait in my office with Nicky please ?" he say. I give him my best pleading eyes hoping he understand. "You can go to him after this ok". I sigh and nod dramatically.

I walk side by side with Nick to Larry's office. "Hey Nick, I'm Eliza" I grin to him. He sigh and slump down the coach. He speak up "My dad keep talking about something cool happening here". I smirk "You'll just see".

Finally, Larry open the door signaling us that he is ready. The three of us stand infront of Rexy. Larry looks at his watch and start counting down. "Five....four....three....two...." we look up but nothing happen. I look around to see if maybe Rexy is the one who only stay still. I stunned on my place, confused with what is happening. "Dad, are you okay ?" Nick ask.

Larry approach Teddy and his horse Texas. "Hey T.R hey man you need to wake up ok ? Theres my son here come on rise and shine Texas" I look around and shout "Its sunset guys !". "Whats wrong with both of you ?" Nick ask. "No Nicky, theres a Tablet here that will mak--" his sentence cut in the middle as I gasp in realisation.

"Oh my god ! The Tablet ! Follow me !" I run or technically sprint to the Temple. We stop right infront of the door. I walk up to where the Tablet is usually placed. "Oh no, its gone" I step back to see anything odd.

I turn around as I hear Larry chase Nicky down. I run after them and shout "Guys the back door now !". I snatch out my knife from my bag and fastened it on my belt. I run to the back door with Larry and Nick hot on their heels. I go inside and immeadiately spot the Tablet on the top of a pile of gold objects. I run to it and snatch it when I hear a familiar voice.

"Give us the tablet" Cecil say. I hand the tablet to Nick and hide him behind me. "Sorry kid, but your father is fired" he chuckle. Nick look at Larry then at me. Larry look at Nick while readying himself to fight thise three old thiefs. "Nicky, trust me, turn the middle piece and you'll see what I'm talking about" Nick look at me and I nod to assure him.

He stare at the Tablet and flip over the middle piece. Right then, the Tablet glow and we hear a loud bang upstairs. "Nicky, Eliza run now !" Larry shout to us. I grab Nicky's hand and we run to the only place I could think.

We run inside and I close the door. I look up but the anubis are not awake, yet. I hide on the corner as I heard Gus's voice "Sleep tight, hotshot". And here the three of us, lock up with nothing but my knife. As I try to pick the lock, I hear Nick call us with a slightly worried voice.

I turn around and see that the two anubis guardian come charging in our way. I put away my knife "Guys, hey its me, hey guys its me Eliza" I don't know why, but they keep walking towards us. "I think its because the Tablet is gone" Larry whisper to me. When they didn't stop, Larry say "Duck, run !".

We run behind the sarcofagus, and thats when it starts shaking and I hear the muffled scream again. "We need to open the lid, now" I scramble to the sarcofagus and try to open the latch. "Help me now !" I ordered Larry. Finally, we manage to open the lid. I step back as the lid open up.
