I was currently sitting at a cafe, waiting for my dad. He had asked me if I wanted to have a chat with him or not and I agreed. I asked Ryder to send me here before he went to work. It has been 2 months since Ryder's and I's honeymoon.
I was sitting anxiously for my father to come. I don't know why I felt so nervous. Maybe I was just scared he was going to come here and tell me it was all a prank and he didn't mean a single word he said during the our dance together.
I was too busy overthinking that I didn't realise my father waving his hand in front of my face. "Are you okay, Violet?" He asked me.
"I'm fine father. I ordered black coffee for you." I pointed at his drink.
"Oh thank you honey." He smiled at me. I was confused. He called me 'honey' so I guess I won't be facing my fears today.
"What's wrong, sweetie?" He looked at me with concern written in his eyes.
"Nothing, it's just. You usually call me that when we have special guests over." I frowned at the thought.
He leaned forward and placed his hand on mine, "I meant every word I told you during your wedding day." As if he read my mind before.
"Why did it take you so long to realise." My lips trembling and tears threatened to fall as I held them back.
"I was so egotistical and stupid I didn't think about how you felt all these years." He said, starting to tear up as well.
"You don't know all the pain and guilt I carried for years. I thought mama died because of me. I thought everything was my fault. I thought you beat me up because I did everything wrong. Even though I did some things wrong, it is not a choice for any parent to hurt their children physically even if it was a small mistake." I whisper-yelled, trying not to catch attention to myself.
"I know sweetie and I am so sorry for that. I'll make it up to you, I promise." He begged me.
"You can't make up all the times you wasted with Stella and Isabella. You can't make up all the times, I waited for you to come to my performances and matches. Did you even know I played shooter and defend for handball as my school's representative? Did you even remember how many times I won student of the year? No! You missed it! You missed it all.. and there's nothing you can do to turn back time for all those times." I tear up at the thought of how much he had ignored me for years but still live under the same roof as me my whole life.
