Imperial Hunting Festival was held every year in Du Shang, the capital of the Tang Empire, by the government. It was led by the Imperial family and after them the officials. The commoners were allowed to enter the forest for hunting after three days when the Imperial family will leave the forest.

This year Tang Li Jie was going to lead everyone for hunting. He would have been excited for he had never been to such an event. It was a new experience and he would have loved it if it wasn't for the lingering danger around him.

In the forest, even if the Emperor will be escorted by a troop of guards, there was still a high success rate of assassination. Han Shi was worried for the safety of the bunny that she had taken under her wing. She wanted to be with Elon all the time but the fact that females of the Imperial family had to wait in their tents set outside the forest bound her from protecting him.

Imperial guards were ready to dispatch at the signal of the Emperor however they were made to wait for a long as each one of them had been fed dog food. Wang Li Qiang wasn't an exception, his eyes twitching as he saw the little Emperor being fussed at by Concubine Han.

Han Shi was like a mother hen worrying for the safety of her chicks. Elon couldn't help but sigh at her protectiveness. Sometimes he felt like a damsel in distress and Han Shi being the prince charming at his rescue.

"Remember what I told you. Don't underestimate this pair of lovers. One is black-heartened and scheming while the other is a cold-blooded assassin. Don't wander in the deep forest and stay together with guards." Han Shi said what seemed like the nth time as she grabbed Elon's hand.

She didn't notice her action in her anxiety but Elon felt the warmth the hand provided and something moved in his chest. Blood rushed to his head as he looked at those pale white hands that wrapped around his own.

A strange feeling emerged in his heart and he looked up at the cold eyes of Han Shi, completely contrasting the feeling she was giving him.

"Don't worry. And how will I hunt if I won't go deep in the forest?" Han Shi opened her mouth at that but Elon immediately shut her up. "I will stick with the Imperial Guards. But I have to hunt or else I will become a laughing stock in officials."

Elon pouted and Han Shi couldn't help but soften up a little at the sight, however her stoic expression didn't express any of her inner emotions.

"Okay, but be careful --"

"Yes, yes. I got it. Now can I go or they might drag me away." Elon joked but it was true. He could feel the impatient gaze of everyone.

Han Shi looked intensely at the departing figure of Elon when he climbed the horse with as much grace as he could manage and took off with the guards. A small sound erupted from her throat at the cute actions of the bunny, which caused her personal maid to look at her master in horror.

Did she just hear a giggle? From Master?! No, it must be her imagination.

Han Shi who looked to be in a great mood just now discarded the facade and her cold aura immediately surrounded her. The other concubines who had been watching the harmonious scene in envy and jealousy paled when they felt the same coldness coming from Han Shi like every other time.

Han Shi completely ignored them and went inside her tent with a flick of her sleeve. No one could compare to her gracefulness in the Imperial Palace. Her aura was equal to those of royals.

"Bring me the things I asked you for immediately." Han Shi ordered. Cui Fen, her personal and most trusted servant bowed and pulled out the things her master asked her to bring.

She dropped her robes in a swift move and pulled on the tight black robs, covering her lean body. A black mask hid her exquisite features only showing her deep black stary eyes.
