|Chapter 64: Wondering About You|

~~Akira's pov~~

I had noticed that Maruki suddenly stopped swinging, he instead dropped to the ground and sighed.

"I'm... exhausted.. Are you okay Kurusu?" Maruki asked.

I could feel myself lose energy as well and fell right besides him.

"I feel exhausted as well..." I sighed.

"Listen Akira... I'm sorry about everything. About hitting you, all this palace thing, making you go through all this pain. Just please tell me you're okay." Maruki asked.

"I'm fine." I said.

"Good... I guess this is the part where we part ways. This is my goodbye to you Akira. I'm glad you were able to change my heart. Please thank (y/n) as well. Because I surrender, you win." Maruki laughed.

I got up and noticed that the palace was collapsing, I made my escape way with the others and left Maruki on his own.

After that whole mess we appeared back into our world where the palace had disappeared.

~~(y/n)'s pov~~

Days had passed ever since the change of heart of Maruki's. Everything was back to normal, no more palace and a strange world. Everyone was back to the way things were except for you, because Maruki was missing. Nowhere to be seen, he hadn't shown his face ever since the palace. Maybe he was somewhere out there and would return once you returned back to school? Who knows. Winter had ended and now you've all returned back to school.

"Hey... Are you still there? Can you hear me?"

That voice...

"Good, I hope you're feeling better. I just want to know if you are. Please let me know."

I'm... Okay.

"Thank you."

You awoke from a voice calling out to you. You opened your eyes and felt somewhat energized. You got up from your bed and noticed what time it was, it was morning.

You got up and began to put on your uniform. Not seeing Maruki for a lot has got you worried, so your only option would see if he would be at school and do his job like he always does. You headed to school on the train and walked over to Shujin when you were called out by Haru.

"(y/n)! Over here!" Haru yelled.

She ran up to you with a smile on her face.

"Hey Haru, what's up?" You asked.

"I wanted to keep you company!" Haru said.

The two of you walked over to the entrance of Shujin, it was then that you explained to Haru that you were going to look for Maruki. She understood and walked off.

You turned over to the nurse's office where his usual spot was, you saw that door had been closed and not open like it usually was. You slid the door and opened it to reveal boxes all over the place as if someone had moved...

"Takuto...? Did he...?" You muttered.

"Hey (y/n), what are you doing here?" You heard a familiar voice say.

It was none other than Ms. Kawakami herself.

"Doctor Maruki... Where is he?" You questioned.

"Oh, haven't you heard? Doctor Maruki quit his job. He told everyone that he was going to pursue a different job and find his own happiness. Why? Did you have something to do with him?" Ms. Kawakami asked.

"He quit...??? But why would he..." You looked down.

"Aww, do you miss him? I am going to admit, I'll miss him too. He was a great support and friend to all of us teachers. But I understand if he wants to do something else rather than becoming a therapist. Being a therapist is a hard job after all." Ms. Kawakami said.

"You should be heading to class now, I'll see you then. Okay?" Ms. Kawakami walked away.

You felt your heart race from hearing that he had quit his job.

Why would he quit his job...? Wasn't he happy with working and helping people out? I can't believe this.. He didn't even tell me either... Am I not important to him anymore? Did he decide to ditch me or just never want to see me again after what happened...??

You felt mixed emotions in you as you headed for class. All this time in your head was the whole him quitting his job and possibly leaving you. You checked your phone for any messages but there were none.

Please text me... At least tell me where you had gone or why you had quit your job. Quit leaving me with the silent treatment and just tell me...!

You spent time around the student council room helping Keisuke with work as usual.

"You seem unordinary today." Keisuke mentioned.

You paused a little hearing him say that.

"Something wrong? Would you like to talk about it?" Keisuke asked.

"I... I do want to ask a question, promise me you won't laugh?" You looked at Keisuke.

"Why would I laugh?" Keisuke questioned.

"Well the thing is... I've been dating this boy for months already. We sort of had this struggle in our relationship and well I was wondering what should I do? He's just up and disappeared for such a long time that I can't seem to find him anymore." You mentioned.

Keisuke looked at you seriously, he walked up to you and placed his hands on your shoulders.

"I think it would be best if you try finding him or at least talk to him. Tell him how you feel, let him know that what he's doing is hurting you. Let him know how much you miss him." Keisuke said.

You felt a little bit of shock of Keisuke's words to you.

"Since when did you have good love advice?" You asked Keisuke.

"I just do, people said I've always been good at it. I do have a girlfriend after all so that would explain it." Keisuke smiled.

"YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND...?!" You were shocked.

"Yeah, just don't tell Mishima or Ryuji or they'll feel bad about themselves again." Keisuke laughed.

Once you two had this conversation and were done with student council work you headed home thinking of stuff when you suddenly received a message on your phone from an unknown number

"Meet me at Inokashira park, tomorrow."

"Is this Shibusawa?" You asked.

There was no reply.

"Guess I'll have to find out for myself." You sighed.
