As Ellie drove through the somewhat busy streets of Seattle, Washington, she kept glancing over at her phones GPS. She behan to watch each of the road signs; reading the street names as she drove by them, "Okay, almost there"... Ellie whispered, her trembling fingers tapping up against the steering wheel, "You can do this, Ellie"...
With a shaky deep breath slipping past Ellie's chapped lips, she pulled up to Dina's house, parking her car. She kept the engine running though since she only had to wait for a few minutes; at most.
Ellie took her phone off of the dashboard, exiting out of the GPS and opening up her texting app. She pressed on Dina's phone number, going into the settings first and changing Dina's name to "Dina" with a red heart emoji next to it.
Smiling widely, Ellie exited out of the settings, beginning to text Dina, "Hey! I'm outside. Want me to come in, or are you still getting dressed?"
Ellie's phone vibrated less then 30 seconds after she had sent it, causing her to giggle, "Well then; she must be excited! I would be too though if I lived the way she does".
She picked up the phone, her hands were no longer shaking. She was ecstatic now instead, since this was her first 'proper" date in a few years. She hadn't been this giddy about going on a date since her first date with Kat. Ellie pressed the 'power' button on the side of her phone to turn it on and read the text in her head, "No, come on in! I'm just doing my hair. The front door is unlocked!"
Ellie was nervous; yet intrigued, to see her new friends house. She had seen Kat's house long before they started dating, so why was she so nervous? This couldn't possibly be THAT bad... She was surely overreacting.
Ellie slowly opened the door of her car, closing it behind her. She made her way up the stairs of Dina's house, her hands beginning to shake once more, "Ugh; not again"... Ellie whispered harshly, mad at herself and her constant, unnecessary nerves, "You're gonna be fine, Ellie"...
Ellie had finally made her way up to the front door; balling her right hand into a fist to try and keep the shaking under control. She used her left hand to quietly twist the doorknob open, "Hey, Ellie! I'll be out in a second". Dina yelled from what appeared to be the bathroom.
Ellie smiled, nodding to herself and yelling back, "Okay, Dina. I'll sit on the couch until you're done. Take your time!"
Dina smiled, "Alright, almost done!" She replied, using her free arm to place her backpack on her back and using her other arm to mess up the bun in her hair. She took one last glance in the mirror, before grabbing her phone off of the bathroom sink.
She placed it in her back pants pocket, then reached over to turn off the bathroom light, "Coming!" Dina called, stepping out of the bathroom and closing the door behind her.
Meanwhile, Ellie was still in the living room, looking around at her surroundings. Dina's house was really nice, with pictures of Dina and her dad all over the walls. She must've had a really loving, supportive dad all this time... Ellie wished that she could've been closer like that with Joel, but that would happen with time.
Ellie stared over at Daniel's desk, where there was a picture of who Ellie could only assume was Dina's mom. She was beautiful, much like her daughter. Ellie was glad that Anna and her were so close though, because not having a mom must've been tough. Ellie didn't even want to imagine life without her parents...
Ellie smiled brightly when the calm sound of Dina's voice filled her ears. She turned around, catching a glimpse of Dina walking down the hallway towards her, "Hey! Ready to go?" Ellie asked, putting the hood of her sweatshirt up over her head in case of Seattle's inevitable rainstorms.
