"It's surprisingly nice," You noted, stepping into your room as you set your bag down on the bed. You released his hand from your grasp, his wings coming back into view, "Except for the fact that there's one bed."

He shrugged. "We're just going to have to deal with it."

"The things I do for missions," You groaned in complaint, facepalming. Looking around the room, it was definitely nicer than you expected. There was one bed, with velvet red sheets, and to the left of the doorway was a bathroom with a shower, toilet and sink. But what made the room the most impressive was the view. Next to the bed, there were grand curtains that were flung to the side that revealed the large windows that allowed you to see the pool, and the sun high in the sky behind it.

"We'll start searching at night so there'll be less people," He mentioned, "So for now we can just do whatever."

"Why don't we go out?"

"Hmm?"

"Why don't we go out?" You repeated with a small chuckle, "It'll be fun."

Pondering for a short moment, the winged pro hero nodded with a smirk that tugged at the corners of his lips.

"It's nice out today," You smiled, moving to wrap your arm around his instead of awkwardly clutching onto his hand. You had both changed into swimming attire, as you had agreed to go to the pool in the center of the cruise. Your feet swayed in the cool water as you sat at the ledge, e/c eyes overlooking the various people smiling as they all joyfully spoke with one another.

"Thankfully," He rubbed the back of his neck with a grin.

"I needed this break," You relished in the warm light, shutting your eyes close with a delighted smile.

"I'm glad you're having fun," He laughed, his hands pressing themselves down onto the ground as you maintained your grip.

"I mean we might as well enjoy it until nighttime, right?" You smiled, and he nodded in agreeance. Silence filled your conversation, Hawks glaring at the cool liquid with a blank expression before suddenly perking upwards.

"Why are we just sitting by the pool?" Hawks inquired, standing upwards as he grabbed your hand, pulling you into the pool with a laugh. He brightly grinned as he dragged you through the water, his grip on your hand only tightening.

"Don't splash me!"

"There's nothing wrong with a little water," He frowned, that was followed by a hearty laugh.

"Obviously!" You frowned, "I just hate getting wet-"

You were taken aback when Hawks suddenly placed his free hand on your head, shoving you under the water with a childish grin. Your brows furrowed together in anger as you resurfaced from the water. Your hand was still latched onto his as you slightly gasped for air, running a hand through damp h/c hair.

"You are so on!"

~

"This is all your fault you know," You shivered, clutching onto the towel that wrapped around your body as you sat on a chair in your hotel room.

Both yours and his body were drenched in water, and you glanced out the window, taking notice of the sun beginning to set. Had you really spent the whole day at the pool?

"Totally worth it," He scoffed as he turned to grab a new pair of clothes.

You recalled a time when he told you that his back muscles weren't nearly broad enough. But that was clearly a lie. You couldn't help but stare for a moment too long at his back muscles, water droplets gently trailing down his skin as he ran a hand through his ashy blonde hair. The sight was slightly mesmerizing, as you watched the male reach for a new shirt. You forced yourself to pry your eyes away, a bright blush evident on your face as you clutched onto the towel in hopes of finding warmth.

"We should get going soon," You cleared your throat, "Once it's night, we should start looking around."

"Yeah. Tonight we'll just gather information, so we need to get to work," Hawks pinched the bridge of his nose as you silently let the towel drop to the floor, reaching for a shirt.

Now it was his turn to stare. He couldn't help but admire your features, a smirk tugging at his lips before he glanced away, reaching for his phone.

After you had finally changed, you deeply exhaled before Hawks walked towards you, hand extended as a grin was plastered on his face. "Ready?"

"Mmhm," You hummed, gripping onto his hand as his wings were concealed in an invisible cloak.

"I already sent out a few feathers earlier," Hawks mentioned, as he locked the door to your room, "It's not anywhere near here."

"Already?"

"I just saw the opportunity to do something, so I did," He laughed, but you knew it was much more than that. Although appearing carefree, Hawks was a man who was very determined in his hero work. That was something you admired about him.

"Well we should try to find who the dealers are," You frowned.

"I'm guessing there are some buyers on this cruise too," Hawks pondered for a short moment, "Let's just look around. Maybe we'll find what they're dealing around here."

Nodding, you walked side by side with the taller male, hand in hand as Hawks moved to interlock your fingers. You slightly tensed up at the feeling, looking over at him, he only smiled. Slightly relaxing, you gently sighed.

"Do you smell that?" Hawks suddenly spoke after you had been walking around for what felt like mere minutes, "It's coming from the restricted zone."

"Should we check it out?"

"Why not?" He laughed with his usual carefree tone, "We'll just check it."

Stepping into the room, you tightened the grip on Hawks' hand. It smelt relatively normal, but Hawks' brows furrowed together.

"They tried to cover it up," He mentioned, "But there was definitely something here. If we keep looking we'll-"

Multiple heavy footsteps could be heard approaching and your e/c eyes widened. "Did you guys hear that? Who came in here without my permission?!"

Someone was coming, and it didn't seem like they were very happy with your intrusion.
