Kaede's p.o.v.

"I know you're awake." Y/n's tired voice chimes.

"...mn?"

"Don't play dumb."

".....fine...you got me." I sighed in defeat.

"Why are you still awake? Am I bothering you?" She croaked.

Oh you innocent soul...

"Not at all."

"...were you watching me sleep?"

"No."

Yes...

"Were you deep in thought?"

"Yes." Not really.

"What's on your mind?"

"Mm..."

"You don't have to answer that."

"...Did you know what you wanted to be when you were younger?" I asked anyway.

"I...I don't remember...it's been a while since I stopped thinking about it." Y/n replies.

"What made you stop?"

"Being forced to gamble with my 'friends'." She answered solemnly.

"Oh...sorry..."

"It's fine. You were just asking....how about you?" She slightly scoots closer to where I lay as my heart raced.

"Me?"

Y/n nods curiously. She's too damn adorable.

"An aviator." I stare at the ceiling.

"Really? That's neat." She beams, despite being tired. "Do you still want that?"

"Not anymore."

"Oh..."

"I actually never wanted to manage money this way, yet here I am."

"Then why didn't you transfer?"

"Because the goal I have now is far more important, since I've grown used to this madness." I smile softly to myself.

"W-what is it?" She asked cautiously.

"It's for me to work on, and for you to find out...eventually."

"....why me? Am I somehow involved?"

I only turned over to face her, as close as she is.

"...this better not be at my expense." She squints.

"Trust me, there's no catch for you."

"But you are a scam artist. Aren't you?"

I chuckled lightly and gently grazed my fingers against the soft skin of her cheek.

Her brows knit slightly under my touch, but she didn't question it. In fact, a light shade of pink dusted the surface.

My smile lingers in the moment, but I didn't want too get carried away.

"Goodnight." I said while drawing my hand away as I closed my eyes.

Y/n's p.o.v.

My heart was beating so fast, I thought I might've passed out.

Or away.

What am I feeling?

What the hell was that?

I might not be able to sleep. Or maybe not wake up.
