mike walked down the stairs and looked around. since no one was down there, he assumed that he was the first one ready.

he sighed and sat down on the couch.

"looks like we're the only two ready." said a voice from the top of the stairs.

mike stood up and saw will.

"hi."

will walked down the stairs and the two stared at each other.

"i don't look that good for you to be speechless." will whispered.

"not true." mike shook his head.

will blushed and mike kissed him.

"finally i'm able to that. jane's rules are so dumb." mike broke the kiss and will laughed.

"i heard that!" jane yelled.

she walked up the basement stairs.

"wow. you look nice." will nodded.

"thank you." jane did a small bow and and they chuckled.

max then came down the stairs.

"max! you look gorgeous!" jane exclaimed and hugged her girlfriend.

"thanks, i guess." max hugged her back. "you, though, look se—."

mike cleared his throat.

"beautiful. i mean beautiful." max finished.

jane laughed and they pulled away.

"i'm so amazing at picking out dresses." jane smiled and examined max's dress.

"i mean, i told you what to do, but sure." will replied.

jane rolled her eyes, then looked down at max's feet.

"are you wearing...sneakers?" jane squinted.

"uh...no..." max lied.

"whatever, i don't even care. where are dustin and lucas?"

they all shrugged and looked around at each other.

meanwhile, dustin and lucas were upstairs in mike's room, talking.

"so, neither of us have a date." lucas pointed out.

"unfortunately, we do not." dustin agreed.

the two boys sat in silence. dustin side-eyed lucas as he looked at the floor.

"hey, lucas." dustin spoke up.

"yeah?"

"last year when...when mike was helping you, um...e-experiment, did you...you know...figure it out?" dustin stammered.

"not right away, but i think after i did. i realized that i had internalized homophobia and i like men and women, like mike. also, i didn't intentionally try to break up will and mike, i was just really confused and didn't go about it in the right way. i guess i always had a crush on mike and never realized." lucas explained.

"oh. do you like anyone right now?" dustin asked.

"no," lucas answered. "do you?"

dustin shook his head.

"oh."

the two boys were silent again and looked away from each other.

they slowly started shifting closer, but didn't look at each other.

"lucas i—."

lucas then kissed dustin.
