+ JULY 2018

Juliet and Jordan. The inseparable duo. Their story began in preschool when Jordan saw the new little girl in their class sitting alone and decided to talk to her. Ever since then it's the two J's against the world. At least it used to be.

"I can't believe you'd say that Jules" says a screaming Jordan as she comes down the stairs. "Come one Jo, I just don't want you to get hurt! Please, don't fall for this" her best friend begged as she followed her. James, also known as Jordan's older brother, just watched the scene from the couch.

"You're my best friend, you should be happy for me", the blonde girl screamed, "I am. I'm just saying you should be careful, you know what he's like" her best friend answered earning a chuckle from Jordan "You know what. You're just jealous because he noticed me and not you. You've had a crush on him since forever and I've got him now".

As soon as those words left her mouth, she regretted them. Juliet gasped as tears formed in her eyes, she looked behind her friend to see James with a shocked expression on his face. If there was one thing she would not tolerate was to be called jealous. Their friendship meant everything to her and she would never put that in risk because of some stupid popular boy.

She scoffed "You know what. If that's what you think of me than I don't see why we should be friends anymore. Since I'm a horrible person and all". Juliet rushed upstairs and collected her things while a very dismayed set of siblings stood in the living room waiting to see what would happen next.

When she came back, holding all of her things, she screamed "I hope he doesn't break your heart and I hope he's worth loosing your best friend over!". A tear feel on her face as she looked at Jordan for the last time "Bye James" was the last thing she said before storming out of the house.

+ AUGUST 2020

And the funny thing is, Juliet was right. The boy that caused their fight was indeed a jerk and did break Jordan's heart. But he was also irrelevant, and very much so because nowadays neither of them could even remember his name. But Jordan couldn't admit she made mistake by not listening to her best friend and saying she was jealous and Juliet wasn't going to apologize for looking out for her friend. So they drifted and from that day forward the two became sworn enemies.

They gave angry glances when they saw each other around school, or parties, basically anywhere. Their friends groups didn't interact. They have a rivalry that was like a taboo, they never talked about it, but no one ever dared to do anything to break the separation rules created among them. It was almost like the Taylors and the Millers where the new Capulets and Montagues. Without the blood lust.

But that was about to change.
