Another good game I highly recommend is Black Desert
I play it on PC, but I think it's available for literally every platform, including mobile.
It's an open-world multiplayer game. You have to buy the game to play, there are 3 options one being the cheapest and the other the most expensive, all come with the ability to play the game and depending on how much you want to spend you get more cool perks. I got the most expensive one just so I could get a pet cat tbh. But when you make an account, you can play the game for a few days for free and have complete access to the game until the time is up to try it out. If you decide to buy it, the character(s) and the progress you made are still there.
The story is really cool, the characters are great I love them all, side quests are interesting too and have some depth and story to them. You don't just have to just quest. There is the option to hunt, gather, fish, and craft things too plus stuff I'm probably forgetting. It's very much your own pace game. The marketplace where you can sell and buy things is entirely populated by players. It's really easy to make money to buy from the market place too. I kitted out my Lahn way early in the game because I had so much money, and now I can one-shot everything.
The classes are well balanced too, they're perfectly capable of standing alone if you know how to play, and they're good about different play styles, I play a support, damage and heals class as a tank,  but they can obviously work well with other classes too. The only downfall I see to the classes is you cannot change their gender. They do have two similar classes for most one being female and one male, but most classes don't have an opposite-gender counterpart. This isn't a problem for me, I love my girls to death, but I could see some uptight asshat being upset. The customization for your characters is incredible.
Also, I've found the fighting can be hard to get down. It's a combo system. It takes a bit to memorize them for me. You can also put some skills on your and click them or use the number key, but not all of them can be placed there, and there are only so many spaces far fewer than all your skills.
I do think you're limited to only playing with people on the same thing, like PC only sees PC, too.
There is a PVP aspect! I don't know anything about it, I hate PVP, and it's completely avoidable, which is one of the top 3 reasons I love this game. You can completely not interact with the PVP side, and only specific servers, I think one out of every server clump, is PVP, and they're clearly labeled and warn you when you log into it.
You can buy houses, decorated them, collect horses and pets, and also buy outfits, pets, and other cosmetic things with in-game money you have to buy, but none of it has a bearing on your performance in the game that I've seen. It's not a pay to play game, another reason I like it. You can obviously tell who put money in the game from their appearance and that's all.
Also, there are guilds. I've been in two and everyone is lovely even though I don't interact much. It might take some searching, but you can find guilds that fit you specifically, I joined a guild that doesn't require you to participate in guild wars or PVP.
You don't have to join a guild, there is no quest to do so or anything, but you get some bonuses from it. It's very accommodating for solo players and groups, which I love because it reminds me a lot of Lotro, as in the same genre, and I didn't like Lotro because you had to play in a group for some quests. Even when you were dozens of levels above the recommended level, you couldn't do it without a party or sometimes raid.

The community is really quite nice, in and out of game. Of course there is the occasionally drama, I saw a r/IAmVerySmart kid on there last time, but it's not toxic like some games.

Anyway, this is my essay on why my boyfriend should get the game and play with me if he gets a computer.
