Jess was worried as she paced back and forth in her bedroom ,she was already dress in her dark blue homecoming dress. Her hair was down her back in her usual soft curls
She gave out a long sigh as she looked at her alarm clock on her nightstand , it was 6:40 pm and Clark still wasn't home , she kept calling him but it would just go straight to voicemail
She had made up a excuse to her parents not wanting to worry them thinking he just needed some time to himself , but it had well over been 4 hours , something wasn't right she felt it in her gut
Their was a light knock on the door , causing Jess to turn around hoping it was Clark
" come in"
The door creeks open before revealing her mother , causing her face to fall , but she quickly hid it
" wow look at you " Martha beamed , staring at her beautiful teenage daughter, she had grown up so fast
" you nervous?" Martha asked seeing the way her daughter chewed on her bottom lip a action she seen a thousands time when she was nervous , Jess didn't say anything as she sat down on her bed not feeling so great
Martha joined her " Its okay to be nervous sweetheart , I remember my first date—"
This caught Jess attention , was this a date ?she didn't think it was , it was just 2 people going to a dance together , did Hunter think this was a date ??
" your father is just as nervous as you , I caught him practicing in the mirror what he was going to say to your date this morning " Martha chuckles , Jess couldn't help but join her as she pictured her father in front of the bathroom mirror trying to seem intimidating
" Really" Jess laughed
Martha nodded as she rubbed her daughter arm conforming pulling her into a side hug "you're always going to be his little girl Jess , he's been dreading this day for years " Martha sighs, soon enough they will be leaving the house for college starting family's of their own
The doorbell rang gaining the two attention
" I better get that before your father scares him off " Martha stood " come down when your ready "
Jess nodded knowing she had to reapply her lipgloss that she had already licked off from her nerves
Jess made her way to the vanity , sitting down she could hear three voices downstairs , she could already hear her father shouting out rules , she couldn't help but smile at that
