Chapter 12: Dirty Little Crumpet Eating Brits

Ignore it, nothing's wrong. Lloyd probably just spilled his favourite iced coffee on his equipment.

I glanced at Theo who was already looking at me as if I had an explanation.

I shook my head, we'll deal with it late but now...

I focused my attention back onto Penelope Turns, "We can do this the hard way, where you try and fail miserably trying to escape us while also embarrassing yourself or..."

"We could do this the easy way," Theo took over, "Where you come with us willingly as we restrain you and you can keep your little fragments of dignity in tact."

Turns looked so pissed that it could've easily been mistake for actual pee. Her glare alternated between both of us until she broke out into a humorous laugh.

She outstretched her arms and turned in a full circle to face each and every one of us, "Fine. You finally caught me."

Turns paused as she came back to us and let her arms fall, "But don't think for a second that for a second, he won't notice."

Lucas. My smirk dropped.

"Oh, so you do know who I'm talking about," Her smile was malicious, "He probably wouldn't have been the person he is now if it wasn't for you, it's your fault."

I folded my arms, "Cuff her."

Her patronising smile didn't leave her face the whole time she was restrained and put into the awaiting van. Her eyes stayed on me as long as they could until she was no longer in the same room.

Theo nodded to me as we both left to get into the vehicle while some of the team stayed behind to get her stuff and the rest were administering serums for the witnesses to make them forget what they just saw.

We both got into the back of the van where Turns was now strapped to her seat, hands and feet bound. We sat opposite her glare followed us, I bet she was snarling too underneath her muzzle.

I ignored her and tapped my earpiece, "Lloyd? Lloyd, come in."

Silence answered my call.

"Lloyd, are you there?" Theo tried.

"Nothing, I'm getting nothing." I frowned, "He should be back online by now, he shouldn't have even gone off."

Theo shrugged, "He probably spilled something on his computer then tried blow drying it which made it overheat instead."

"You sound like you're talking from personal experience." I raised an eyebrow.

"It was an intense game of COD, okay? It was an accident!" He defended.

"Yeah, okay."

We got back to the hotel in around 5 minutes. We went around the back entrance, with Turns held between us it probably looked very suspicious and we didn't want to draw attention.

The elevator dinged as we reached our penthouse suite. The agents barely noticed us arrive, some glanced over their shoulder but others didn't bother lifting their heads from their hands.

Theo and I paused, "What's going on?"

Between them, pained looks were shared and eyes were averted. It was obvious there was something wrong.

"Commander..." One of them spoke up, "HQ was attacked."
