I was on my first quest ever, that it happened. I died.

My name is Bianca di Angelo. Only a week before it happened, I found out I was a half-blood. But my life has never been that simple.

Long story short: It started when Percy and his friends rescued us. Dr. Thorn (a manticore) attacked us and the Hunters of Artemis came. We met Zoe Nightshade and Artemis herself. I thought it was so cool how they were immortal unless they died in battle. So when Artemis asked me to join the Hunt, I could not refuse. Then, Artemis left to do some of her own hunting, and we all went to camp (via the sun chariot).

Then, Zoe recieved some dreams that Artemis was in danger. We also got a prophecy:

Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,

One shall be lost in the land without rain,

The bane of Olympus shows the trail,

Campers and Hunters combined prevail,

The Titan's curse must one withstand,

And one shall perish by a parent's hand.

It was obvious, we needed a quest. So Zoe, Phobe and I went for the Hunters and Thalia and Grover went for the Campers. Phobe got sick, but we continued on our quest. In Washington DC, Percy joined us to finally create five. As we entered the junkyard of the gods, I found a statue. It was the only one Nico didn't have (for his ridiculous game, Mythomagic). Talos came, and Percy was ready to go in. I remember it vividly, even now:

"Distract it," Percy said. "I'll just have to time it right."

My jaw tightened. "No, I'll go."

"You can't. You're new at this! You'll die."

"It's my fault the monster came after us," I said. "It's my responsibility. Here" I picked up the litte god statue and pressed it into his hand. "If anything happens, give that to Nico. Tell him... Tell him I'm sorry."

"Bianca, no!"

But I didn't wait for him. I charged at the monster's left foot.

After I got in, I found some buttons. I pressed a few, just to see what they did, I should not have done it. The monster staggered a bit and  was struck by some electricity. Jolting pain ran through my body. The monster began crumbling to pieces after that. And they all landed on me.

All of the pain, all of the memories, and then, nothing. Blackness.

I had thought that, by becoming a Hunter of Artemis, I could live longer than a normal half-blood. Instead, I died a week after I joined.
