BIANCA
Much time passed. I began to fit in. I went to some barbecues, and even made a few friends. No one in Elysium ever spoke of thier old life. Just of the life they hoped to have if they chose for rebirth. I liked it that way.
Even though I was happy, I stilll missed my old life. It was like this knawing pain that wa reduced when I was distracted. But when I was alone, I remembered Zoe, Grover, Thalia, Percy, Annabeth, Chiron, and Nico. I had died, and saved them. If only... It was always what I thought about, how distraught everyone must be, and Nico. Does he even know yet? Or have I simply saved the questers to let them all die?
I never learn until one day, the announcer strides up to the platform. He is about to announce a new resident, like he did with me. The girl who comes up to the platform looks strangely familiar. The announcer calls out to the gathered crowd, "Today we have a new resident! Please welcome Zoe Nightshade, Hunter of Artemis!"
Zoe scans the crowd, as if looking for me. She lays her eyes on me for a few seconds, then they dart away.
"Zoe!" I yell. "It's me, Bianca!"
Her head slowly turns around, so that it faces me. Her piercing gaze stares through me, and she has and expression of true shock. "Is it really you, Bianca?"
I nodd. "Yes, it is me. But, you've died!"
She gingerly steps down the stairs on the platform. "Yes, I have." Her voice cracks. We meet and she hugs me. She begins to sob onto my shoulder.
I inquire, "How was the quest?"
"We sucseeded, but I died," she answers between sobs.
I calm her. "It'll be fine. Everyone here has experianced something horrible. They never talk about it. In a year you can try for rebirth. It'll be fine." I tell her again and again.
Over the few 'days' (the Underworld doesn't really have days), I help Zoe gat settled in. She meets every one and we all have a barbecue celebrating the person who has been here the longest without rebirth. We have happy days for a while, when all of the ghosts are stirred by a powerful force.
